seems Gibbs loyalty as person to Brunell clouded his ability

What do you think? Looks like the switch was made because he likes Brunell as a person and felt compelled to give him a second chance. It is very obvious he's not the better qb of the 2. Never thought Gibbs judgement would get so clouded.

Ramsey would not have done any better. In fact, probably more turnovers if he were in.

The difference is that at least Ramsey gives you a threat of a down field completion Mark Brutle...does not. Look at the emotion of this team -there is none. Gibbs may have really sent a mixed message with his loyalty

What was that in the background??? Is that the sound of a win, in Texas Stadium? Why yes, I think it is. And who's behind center? Well, that'd be Mark Brunell. Wow, we're now 2-0 with him behind center. And as I saw it, he engineered two clutch plays for the win -- 2 LOOOOONG passes.
What was that you were saying about Gibbs' judgement?

yes, what a convincing win! we're sure to win every game in the last 4 minutes with 2 long TD bombs!

I agree DCD, but Mark did show that he can throw the long ball. That's important. Now, if we can get him to quit taking sacks and throw some deep balls instead of so many drop offs earlier in the game when we could try to get a lead.

i agree. i have no problem with brunell being in there as long as he hits those throws! as i keep saying ALL I WANT IS TO WIN, no different than anyone else. i am euphoric that we won this game!!!
hopefully now that gibbs has seen how effective the long ball can be with moss, he will actually dial it up a little more often, instead of whatever else that was for the first 56 minutes that did NOTHING.

I don't think it's Gibbs not calling long balls, I think it's Mark deciding to throw a "safer" dumpoff pass a lot of times.

Exactly....I wasn't happy throughout the entire game.
People who have played football at ANY point in there life, or at least know about the game know this one thing... The game is NOT OVER TILL THE CLOCK READS 00:00. Its never OVER. Thats why I love this sport, things can change around in a heartbeat. I work at UPS in Ravenville and there are plenty of Cowpukes here too and I went through it tonight. I was rewarded for my faith.

it was good stuff! i'm screamed out. by the time the 2 td's rolled around, i wasn't able to say anything. i just threw my fists in the air with my fingers crossed, hacking for air.

Quite apt to the way I experienced the game as well.

Its been a long time since Ive displayed an outburst of emotion. Now that I think on it, I probally looked like a fool running out of the break room with my fists punching air! THis is football baby!

people, the season is longer than 2 games. sure, we are all euphoric over this win. i am, and i won't let anyone tell me that i don't deserve it after suffering through countless agonizing losses to the cowboys for so so long. but it is short-sided to say that this thread is over just because we won the game. the fact remains that for 55 minutes we put in a pitiful effort and we aren't going to win a whole ton of games if we can't play more consistently.
hopefully brunell will get his chemistry fine-tuned with the WRs over the next 2 weeks during the bye. we can't rely on hitting two bombs in the last 5 minutes.
the thread is very much alive and very much valid until we see the last 5 minutes of this game carry over into the seahawks game after the bye. for now there is not enough information to know one way or the other. so maybe the thread is "on pause".

imagine if we got those 2 plays during the FIRST 5 minutes of the game!!! not only would we have a huge lead, but they would be forced to drop back more defenders, leaving huge holes for portis to shred them to pieces.

thats the point im trying to make...if we take those kind of shots early and often...then we will get some pass interferance calls...they wont load 8 men in the box...and even if we get intersepted it would be like a punt and we would have plenty of time to recover..the time to be conservitive is when the game is in ur hands....not at the begingin of the game... just my 2 cents
