Sorry to hear that happened to Coles. It's a tragedy when it happens to any child. That aside, Coles screwed the Redskins and for that I hope he's as mediocre as they come for the rest of his NFL career.

i agree. coles is a sack of crap and deserves nothing but to be a failure in the NFL. however, no child deserves that, it's the most horrible thing i can imagine and i feel terrible for him even though i hate him with a passion.

i think it is somewhat tragic that no one knew about that while he was here- gibbs is the kind of guy that may have been able to establish some kind of relationship with him if he had known that. but oh well.

I read this article yesterday. That helps me understand his apprehensiveness to talk to fans and some reporters.

This is unfortunate that this happens to anybody and just proves how sick this world is. Why anyone would do that to someone else, especially a child? I have not a clue.

Yeah on the serious side of this, it is terrible news when it happens to anyone, and I don't think it's any worse because it's Coles.

To meet PT's classless joke requirement, I do believe he could have found a better choice of words than:

Wow, I have blasted athletes in the past but after reading that I will now reconsider how much I invest in disliking people who are not a part of my personal life.

If the NYJ are where Coles feels happy and safe, considering the baggage that he will carry around for the rest of his life, then I say more power to him. He probably would not have been able to talk publicly about this tragic experience from his past if he was not with Herm Edwards.

I hope that none of us has walked in Coles shoes in this case. As that is the case for myself, I cannot judge the man. Society is lucky that Coles did not turn and abuse other children like many victims do as adults.

It's tragic that that happened to Coles. But why is he talking about it now; in the midst of redifining himself in NY?

And why does this story emerge from an article about his IPod?

I guess it is a good way to make people forget about his toe...

Really though; this is the type of thing that jails should have vacancies for. Leave the mary jane possesors on the street and lock up the pervs. It makes me sick.

It's not about the iPod. The iPod represents a form of symbolism of his life in through the songs he listens to and how the lyrics mirror his life. That's why it was in the story.
