Bears vs. Redskins

The most exciting thing about the Chicago/Washington game will be waiting to see which team scores first. The wait could be a long one with rookie QB Kyle Orton now in a starting roll because of what seems to be the cursed lower extremities of former starter Rex Grossman (broken ankle, last year's torn ACL).

The Bears had hoped for an improved passing game with the addition of WR Muhsin Muhammed who led the league in TD's last year with 16. With Orton forcasted to throw at least one TD pass only about 26% of the time(www.Statshark.com) Muhammed could spend most of his time checking out the cheerleaders. The Bears will need to rely on RB Thomas Jones to put points on the board and keep their hopes up high for draft pick RB Cedric Jones. With an offensive line that last year was truly "offensive", QB Orton will have his duck, tuck and slide/play dead technique down by season's end.

While the Redskins may seem equally as mediocre offensively, they may be better than expected. QB Patrick Ramsey has been projected to throw at least one TD over 50% of the time this season (www.Statshark.com). Ramsey's biggest obstacle could be in finding his vertically challenged WRs in any type of man coverage because they will literally be covered by the taller and bigger defense. Former Jet Santana Moss and Ex-Patriot David Patten are on the short side but everyone knows that short and speedy wins the race. Or is it just speedy? Either way, if either can get open they are both potential game breaking deep threats. RB Clinton Portis should get the ball more and survey says he should rush for at least 80% of the time. But more than likely, the Redskins defense will be doing most of the carrying this season.

Chicago 7 Washington 17

I think pretty much everyone is picking us over the Bears. We are 5 1/2 point (I think thats what it is anyway) favorites.
