McCants speaks

He was on local sports radio show this morning. He was asked if Gibbs has lost anything and he said that Gibbs' hands are tied from the top. I think that is total BS because Gibbs would have never taken this job again without complete autonomy. He said the eagles would win 16 games and he would catch 16 TD's... Also said he wanted to be in philly because of TO and Mcnugget. After listening to him speak and having heard what he had to say I say good riddance.

Worst has been said about us by former players. What he said doesn't really bother me. Did you expect him to say that the Eagles suck?

Not sure what you are fishing for here. I guess it was one of those conversations you have to hear for yourself. He actually sounded, from the way he spoke, like a complete idiot. I'd rather see hard workers like Rock, Keazley (spelling?) even Jimoh (cause no one can knock his ST play) make the squad over a guy that wasn't willing to do the little things.
Just my opinion.

I didn't hear the interview and Im only responding to what Ive read in your post.

He said it seems like Gibbs has his hands tied? Do I think that, no not really but he could definately be reffering to the Coles situation. Danny had his fingers in the jar with that ordeal and McCants may have his opinion on that. I would be shocked if he thinks Danny was being like his old self.

Nothing he said was surprising to me. He's happy to get some playing time and I dont blame him. I wouldn't want to sit on the bottom of any teams depth chart if I was a player. He didn't do too much to earn time when he was here either.

That's odd didn't "the Danny" sign him to a new contract right before Gibbs returned?
So if "the Danny" had tied Gibbs hands wouldn't D-Mac still be here.

He said the eagles would win 16 games and he would catch 16 TD's...

This is what a player should be saying about the team he playing for. Maybe he didn't think along those line when he was here.

Also said he wanted to be in philly because of TO and Mcnugget.

Yeah until T.O. goes on one of his "I'm not getting my needed number of passes thrown to me" tandrums. Then McNasty will have to inform McCants that he had to tell T.O. that he won't be throwing the ball to anyone but T.O. When asked why that is the case McNausea will tell him it was the only way he could get T.O. to stop holding his breath.

people beat their drum for him on this board because during our horrid run with Spurrier... McCants came out of nowhere and was a bright spot to a dull team....

Gibbs kept other over him, because Gibbs likes hard workers over anything else... It doesn't matter how good you are on the field... if you don't work hard off of it... you aren't getting very far with JG... that's why McCants was released...

I blame Jake and SkinsChic for feeding him too well. He got to thinking his (ahem) didn't stink.
I fear he may become another thorn in our side twice a year...because the man can catch a football where there's no chance of catching one, normally.
On the other hand...it's not like he knows our playbook, either. ROTFALMAO
