I like what I've read today about a couple of our WRs:
About Laveranues Coles from Warner Hessler in today's Newport News Daily Press:
And about Taylor Jacobs, from Pasquarelli's training camp report:
I'm pretty excited about this year's WR corps!
About Laveranues Coles from Warner Hessler in today's Newport News Daily Press:
NICE GUY. Columnist Steve Serby of the New York Post came across this jewel while following former Jet Laveranues Coles after the Tuesday afternoon's practice.
According to Serby, Coles was still walking the rope line separating the fans from the practice fields and signing autographs long after all of his teammates had gone to the dressing room. Coles insisted he would honor every autograph request before being interviewed.
At one point, Coles bent down to sign a helmet for a young fan in a wheelchair. After signing, Coles told
the youngster: "Thanks for allowing me to sign your helmet, sir."
(Here's the full Serby article at the NY Post.)
And about Taylor Jacobs, from Pasquarelli's training camp report:
Rookie Taylor Jacobs, a second-round pick who had played for Spurrier at Florida and is familiar with the offense, was very impressive in the Tuesday and Wednesday practices. Backup quarterback Rob Johnson suggested Jacobs is the best route-runner he has ever seen as a rookie entering the league. Taylor made a great route adjustment and catch on a deep post Tuesday morning.
I'm pretty excited about this year's WR corps!
