Skins oppinion...

I wanna know your guys oppinion on Jason Campbell. I really fail to see the logic in this one. Ramsey really did not have a fair shot. Gibbs constantly switching starters, hows he supposed to be confident. But back to the point, does it irk some of you that your team is currently being run by a bunch of morons? You spend huge money on Brunell, a 1st rounder on Ramsey, and now a 1st rounder, and a horde of later round picks to get Campbell, who alot of people didn't even see as a 1st rounder.

Now, to me, it seems ridiculous to come onto a 'Skins board and tell you guys that you will fail this year..it's my personal oppinion you guys arent very good right now..but let's jsut say I'm right. That 1st rounder could be a top 10 pick next year. So, if it does happen, does Jason Campbell warrant a top 10 pick plus a couple others. Might as well have given Ramsey 1 more year, hoped for the best, and if you did end up with a top 10, move up to #1 and grab Leinhart.

Who are you reffering to? Or are you just making mindless comment? Gibbs is in charge of everything that happens while he's here. So thats the only person you could be talking about.

Brunell was the ONLY mistake out of all the people we picked up last season. Do some research.

Have you seen Campbell play? If you did then that would make this thread even more pointless. If you haven't then I suggest you watch it and you'll get your answer.

One more thing, what is a team built around? A solid QB but I guess you guy haven't had one for a while now some maybe you forgot.

We've surroud horrible QB's with plenty of talent and got nothing in return! We need someone who can get the ball to the playmakers. Like I said, watch the game where Jason played and if you can't recognize the qualities of a leader and born QB then Ill toss you my glasses.

He's the future of the team. Ramsey is a :?: and he's gettign close to the end of his contract. Successful people think ahead, why fault Gibbs for that? He didn't want to get the best player on the board he wanted to get the player he wanted. A player he specifically sought after and hand picked. Gibbs picks people not only for talent but for character, Jason has all of that. Why not get the whole package?

Maybe this answers your question.

Like the cowboys havn't done the same thing with there q.b.'s three different starting q.b.'s in three years. You have Bledsoe and who else? The reason Gibbs picked Campell is for depth at the q.b. position.

Simple answers:

- We like having Campbell as a QB of the future, but we don't need him this year...barring injury catastrophe.

- Gibbs does not yank his starters around. Never has. And Gibbs runs the team. (Note to league: Yes, Dan Snyder is a young owner who interfered a lot, but he's also an owner young enough to have idolized Joe Gibbs. Snyder persuaded the best coach in Redskin history to come back and run the team. I'll repeat: run the team.)

- Ramsey will start. He is improving.

- Brunnell looks more like the old Jaguars Brunnell than the guy who played here ;ast year.

- Yes, so far, the Redskins appear to have two capable starters at QB, and a future star.

- That's not a "controversy", by the way. It's a good thing.

Its all about looking ahead. If Ramsey has a spectacular season (Drew Brees). His contract comes up and he may bolt, Happens all the time. If by chance he turns out not to be what we think he will be. Then we have still brought Campbell along slowly and he has matured under Gibbs watchful eye. All the while learning the system and gaining experience from Brunell and Ramsey. As for draft picks, I really wouldn't worry to much about that right now. It's always best to dance with the one who brought you to the ball.

I don't think Patrick is going anywhere. He is going to have an excellent season, and we are going to re-sign him. Brunell will not play out his contract. He will retire in the next two years, and Jason will be the backup. In the NFL you always need a capable backup QB. Right now Brunell looks great as a backup. I would have no lack of confidence in him this year if Patrick ever got knocked out of a game. So far, in the pre-season, Brunall has actually looked the best of the three, so the talking heads are actually calling for him to be the starter again. But they don't know Joe Gibbs. This is Patrick's team, and barring injury, Brunell won't see the field this year as long as Patrick shows signs that he understands Joe's lessons. These guys want to play for Joe. There is no other coach like him. He has, in two years, totally made the team over in his image. We only had two starters last season, and Gibbs didn't pull Brunell until the 9th game. He had to do something, Brunell was playing very poorly.
