My 1st time at Fed-Up Field

OOPS  , can I mod please put this in the right forum for me. Its 6am, forgive me.

1st and foremost I must think the great Justice Hog for inviting me to a great evening. The experience would have been even better if he could have joined me but hopefully we'll hook up at another game.

Nose bleed? That would be an understatement, I was up so high that my cuzin had 2nd thoughts about making it up to the seats and I just looked down until I got to the seat. Once we got used to the atmospheric pressure at 10,000ft I realized that the view wasn't too bad. I could really see the game pretty good from up there although I felt really removed from the action.

I was lucky enough to sit beside a Bengals fan and his g/f who was a Dallas fan  . So those knuckle head kid comes walking up the steps with a Roy Williams jersey on, I couldn't resist and yelled out that Dallas sucks! Bengal man turns towards me and his girl says "hey!". I look at her like :?: , I don't see a big gay star in the middle of the field, this is Redskin country ma'am. I was competeting with Bengals guy because I was the only person up there trying to cheer for the Skins.

Our fans suck. Nuff said.

THE MOTHS!!! The moths from hell dwell by the stadium lights. They fly around the light until they go blind and just bomb dive towards your head and walk around on the ground. I hate bugs so that freaked me out. Why are there prey-mantis's at the TOP OF THE FREAKING STADIUM?!!? I guess the eating is good, if I was bug I'd hang out there too. My entire migration pattern would change, my colony would flock to the stadium during the season.

The Game:
Patrick - Horrible. I dont care get mad, thats how I felt. He looked jiterry as usual. He looked like he was guiding the ball and thats why he's underthrowing the WR's. He's making poor decisions and staring down his WR's which why was he was picked off in the endzone. He did show flashes of decency but it wasn't enough to make you forget the bad.

Betts - Looks good like he did last year.

Rock C. - He really impressed and must really want his job bad.

Patten - Awesome!

Moss - Aweseome when not overthrown!

O-line - They looked great in pass protection.

Rogers - That boy looked downright sharp. I wasn't even worried about him getting burnt. Gregg wanted him to get burnt and I bet he set him up for it. He wants the kid to respect these cats and I think his respect level had to have gone up tonight. The INT was great, I wanted him to run it back but he didn't wait for his blockers. This kid is aggressive, he'll fit in just fine. He tried to take Palmers head off and I was so happy to scream at that much to the dismay of the Bengals loser next to me.

Taylor - He was out there roaming around trying to level people, I love it!

Marcus - Probowl for 2005! Was he not everywhere? That guy was on every play almost. Lavar needs to get back soon.

Run stopping - It was hard to follow the MLB from up top but whoever was there seemed to be solid.

Prioleu - Solid, he looks EXTREMELY comfortable in the system.

NO JASON CAMPBELL!!!! My goodness I threw a fit at the top of the stadium! Others fans were laughing at me becuase I was irrate! I didn't get to see that kid play in person, I wanted my loser Raven fan cuzin of mine to see him. Brunell?!?!? I dont wnat to see him, I want to see Campbell.

Brunell - Solid again, I refuse to ride that bandwagon.

Nemo - He is going to make the team and leveled some guy on a swing pass! Good hands, great powerful runner with decent speed.

Combs - He needs to be cut today, this is twice that he's failed to come through at the end of a game. He fumbles and can't make simple catches.

I didn't get to meet up with the crew, Jake didn't answer his phonee  ....

That sucks.

At least you have been to a game. The only game I get to see is the ProBowl here in Hawaii.(Saw it when we had chump, Samuels, LaVar{I think}) It is not that impressive. Maybe if I have the money when I come home for Christmas, I'll catch one of the big games deciding whether or not we make the playoffs  My 2 cents

Sorry your experience was not so great. It is sad that not all fans are as good as the ones on this site HTTR

Again welcome to FedEx I guess it’s really what you make of it!! I have seats up at 10,000ft as well but this is preseason… plenty of seats to be had downstairs. After a great TG Party with the Hogettes we headed in…got great seats down by the Skins tunnel. My son and his friend (who is a Bengals fans and was at his first NFL game courtesy of our own JP Fair Thanks again JP!!) found great seats next to the tunnel. After the game my son left with one of Carlos Rogers gloves (a glove he got his first NFL Int with!!) and his friend left with his Carson Palmer jersey signed by Carson himself and Kelly Washington on his hat and a Chad Johnson handshake (what’s up with not giving the kid an autograph Chad?) [-X
As for me I got to speak with Cory Raymer after the game, we didn’t talk about the game at all, as some of you my have read in the Post his wife was having some problems. I’m happy to report Cory said she’s doing well!!

Sorry to hear about your experience w/ the fans!
Truth is the crowd was dead b/c let's get real "our" boys have not given us reason to cheer. I have faith that we will get our crowd back in the game, but for now we have to deal with what we have. Besides, take in cosideration that it was a pre-season game. You have to experiece a live game during the season...Opening game should be nice:)

You should have taken my cell phone number Chris there were tons of people moving down to where we were. We are upper level but only a few rows back. You could have at least gotten away from most of the moths! ;-) And had someone to cheer with. Jackson was louder then the majority of the people at the game last night.

Yea, I'll PM you and get yours tonight. I was thinking about coming down lower but didn't want to get escorted out or something drastic on my 1st trip.

Those moths are huge, they're like small birds!

Scott always makes buddies with our ushers, his dad has had these seats for a while and they are always the same to guys. So if you call us we can definitely help you out with them if there are seats avaiable.

Heck half the 2 rows in front of us were people who moved down from the top rows. And they only cheered when something good happened. We'd much rather have had you there!

Is it only me or others agree with me that we -always- had a better crowd and environment at the old stadium?

No bird-size moths either! ROTFALMAO

Seems as though many of the "real" fans have been segregated out of being able to attend -- whether it's the cost of going, the royal pain of getting there and getting out, or other reasons .... there's a very sterile atmosphere there now.

I still believe that can be changed but that ball is in the team's court now.

Sorry Chris, didn't hear it or see that I got a missed call until I got home.

My bad.

The problem with Fed Ex is that the people who attend the games are not fans, they are spectators.

Don't be jealous because Chris has Jake's cell phone number 1974! I'm sure if you're nice he'll give it to you too!

P.S. the other was Punu's not Chris'!

I know the other was Punu's - I just saw multiple threads essentially saying the same thing.

I know where Jake can be found. I sit across the aisle from him :-P

Agreed.

Also agree on the jersey thing, I saw all kinds of other team's jerseys. I was in shock, so I asked my uncle(Season ticket holder.)about it and he just shrugged.

I'll look ahead and see if we're not going to any games. I'm probably not going to the 'Skins game this friday b/c of the Nats. They are in an actual race and we're still in the preseason (Gasps from the peanut gallery :-) ). Seriously though, I'll check it out.

OMG. The moths. I was right there with you Luva. And it was drizzling, so I thought they would go away - but no.

Anyway, I made it over to the THN tailgate area at about 7pm, and apparently I had just missed Skinschic, Jake, and some others - I will try to catch up with you guys a little earlier at the 'burg game.

Back to the seats, we were pretty high up there too, but I enjoy seeing the whole field - and there were almost all Redskins fans around us. I love giving high fives to a whole bunch of random people.

But we moved down to the endzone bar at halftime to meet some friends, and hung out there for a while. I stood out in the aisle to check the time at one point, and the usher told me to take a seat (real nice like). I told him I was just checking the time, and he was like, "c'mon man, it's cool - just have a seat somewhere..." So I grabbed my friends and we plopped down right behind the goal post.

I mean, it was just a preseason game and all, and I would almost rather deal with Mothra, than watch a game from the endzone, but it was pretty cool of the usher to let us in the lower bowl.

And the game got real exciting at the very end - we almost tied it up - just like last year. lol.

Resistance is futile.

Give in to the light, bro.

Brunell will lead us to the playoffs this year, Jason will take over next year.

Until then, The #8 Bandwagon has a lot more room. Heck, I'll even let you ride shotgun.
