Don'tTrash Carlos Rogers too much.

I remember from last year that Gregg Williams like to get his 1st round draft picks matched 1 on 1 against the top WR's in the game.
He did it to Sean Taylor putting him on Chris Chambers and Torry Holt. He wanted Sean to get Burned on purpose so Sean would be humbled and he would work harder.
Don't be surprised to see "Cash" matched up on Chad Johnson one on one tonight.
And think about what C.Johnson did to Roland (Chump) Bailey.
Don't panic if he get's burned. Just watch and see how he comes back from it if it does happen.

Not with Sean Taylor. He wanted him to get beat and then come out and show him he could bounce back from it.
Against the Rams Taylor and Smoot got burned by Torry Holt. Taylor came backfrom it mad and ended up getting an interception.

He doesn't in the season, but in pre-season he will throw them to the wolves.

GW does not want his players to get burned. That is the whole purpose of not starting Taylor for the first 3 games of the season to ease him into game situations.
Think about it, wanting someone to get burned or burn an assignment and possibly give the other team points would be completely against the Offense and would hurt the whole team for the sake of one player. Does that sound like the plan here?

I'm not so sure we'd want to match him up with Johnson so soon after coming back from injury. While Williams likes to test his players, he's also aware of their physical limitations. I don't expect Williams to throw "Cash" out like that. We'll need him in the regular season.

He'll be eased in - it's his first NFL action and he's coming off an injury.

When did CRodgers get nickname "Cash"? He didn't really rob us of our cash or anything....that's an interesting nickname.
If CRodgers is close to 100%, I'd love to see him play against CJohnson. That way we'll be able to see his limits without losing a real regular season game. I say bring it on!
If you don't want to get burned with points....just put ST near him!

How 'bout we call him "Chuck" or "Chucky"?
After all, "Carlos" is Spanish for "Charles".
Just a thought.

Williams is looking to get the players on the field for the types of schemes that he wants to see the results from on film.
I do not think that Joe or Greg are going to show us too much in the next 2 weeks except for what they want film of and to see how certain things play out with whoever is on the field at certain times together.
As much as some fans would like to simply see certain players against other players these 2 coaches are about the team aspects and how the team plays together (given the limited plays they will "show").
I would expect that if Rogers can play he will be evaluated just like everyone else as to how he fits into the scheme that is being used by Greg at that time.
Both these coaches are looking to get game film to use to evaluate their players. They really want to win but the result means nothing really and we will not be showing anything that might closely resemble our plans for what happens after 9/11.
These next 2 weeks games are all about who will be here to implement the game plan after 9/11.

I've got high confidence in him. I see him being a big-time player in this league. But I saw the threads after the last game bashing everybody else. So I figure I'd throw this out there before the game.
Im sorry my first post came off in the wrong way. I meant that he will be tested tonight, (Gregg Williams likes his DB's to be battle tested before the season. It will lead to them being better players as their career goes on). And everyone knows C.J. is a beast.I just wanted to throw this out here before anything happens, That way we don't have 100 threads on how our d is in trouble and how we should have kept smoot.
I also see Carlos Rogers getting at least 1 int tonight. I've sen him at Auburn. The kid is a Baller.

Our D will be fine when we get everyone who is now on the team healthy and playing in games that count. We have the talent to be better than last year with this team and these coaches.
The 2 defensive people that were on this team were made very fair offers to be a part of the team - they chose to go play elsewhere!
We did not let them go!

I wouldn't be surprised IF this happened, in fact I'd be surprised if it DIDN'T happen.
Carlos will need to adjust to the speed of the NFL wideouts just like Taylor did. Lining him up against Chad would provide this education without hurting the team (it's pre-season)
It doesn't matter if he gets beat or if he shuts Johnson down, when the season starts he'll be on the sidelines untill GW feels comfortable with him. That may take a few games,or it may only take 1. It all depends on Rodgers learning curve.

The Redskins gave up 28 points to Carolina last week, but Williams said the chance to see young players against the Panthers' first two units was ideal.
"From an evaluation standpoint, we couldn't have scripted it any better," he said. "I always laugh and shake my head when people try to make an opinion on somebody that plays at the end of preseason games against somebody that won't make an NFL team. You have to play against NFL-type players. We had a chance to move guys up and get them in those situations, and you'll see it again [tonight]."

That's just a few. Go ahead evrybody do a search on Mafreda ther's 19 pages of this stuff. You continuously bash this team and Gibbs. I don't get it. Every time a bad article comes out on us you agree with it. If we are this bad why are you still here?
The way I see it you got 2 choices either your with us or your not. I garuntee the thing that me and everyone else hates most is fair-weather fans like you.
Make a choice. Have some faith and be with us win or lose. Or turn in all you Burgandy and Gold gear and become a fan of another team. The choice is yours.

He claims to be a skins fan.
By the way Cash has been Rogers' nickname since college, because of the way he cashes in on every pass.

JM has been posting negative post since I've been here. However I must admit as of late he has been making a lot more postive post. I don't know if he is getting his news from a different source now or the temperture in Chicago, but he has soften his stance on Rodgers and has always liked Campbell so maybe this only relates to new Skins but he has been getting better.
As far as his complaints against Rodgers are partly due to the fact that he wanted Mike Williams.
Check out his more recent post. I had to check the IP address to make sure it was the same post-er

Hit it right on the head RedskinsInCanada (as usual). I was actually just about to look for that quote. Remember, even though Taylor and Bowen were healthy last week neither started.
I see Rogers going up against Chad once or twice but he will get limited action. It's a particularly good learning experience for highly drafted rookies because it shows them that they can't afford to simply let their superior physical ability make up for their mistakes any more - in the NFL all the other guys are just as good athletes as they are. Unless you are Deion you have to play with great discipline if you are going to be a truly great CB and it's good to learn this right away.
I say give him a taste of what a real NFL reciever can do (and Chad Johnson may be THE best WR) and let him remember that. Then it's cool to let him play against the 2nd string guys. That way he can dominate them but he still knows what he must do to become a truly great player in this league. I mean who knows what will happen, Rogers was the least thrown at CB in arguably the best conference in football last year and I believe when he was thrown at he held the opposing team to the lowest completion percentage too. He shut-down any reciever who went against him, he can flat-out play.

I like the nickname. I'm very interested in seeing how well ROgers fits in the system.
ALthough im a fan of SEC football, i didnt have much of an oppurtunity to see C Rog play last year. Chad Johnson and Husmenzada? completlely torched the secondary last year, so im interesting in seeing what happens tonight.
