i think tom brady and the patriots will bottom out this season...just a hunch--it seems too good to be true 3 out of the last four. if you remember, whenever belichick called the plays, they lost, and when charlie weis called them, well obviously they won 22 straight. without the offensive GENIUS of charlie weis and the absolutely amazing motivation that crennel offers, as well as his defensive knowledge, i don't know if the pats will still be as dominanat as before. i've been thinking this for a while, so its not just a response to chad's post, but overall just a general idea. waht do you guys think?

I think you take away that very first pass, and you take away the later part of the game when the srubs were in, and the Pats looked darn good.

They have several guys who can run the ball, and their WRs looked sharp. Of course, their D was as hard-hitting as ever.

I'm not sure how much you can really take from a preseason game, but they sure looked like a team that will be able to live up to the "team to beat" status they've earned.

if weis's plays/offensive system were somehow copyrightable, and the pats could no longer use them, then i'd say they would definitely be in big trouble. but even if belichick had nothing to do with the development of the offense (which is highly unlikely), he has certainly learned the ins and outs of it by now.

watching them play tonight, i just get that vibe in The Force that they are still a supremely well-organized, confident team that knows what they have to do to win and exactly how to do it.

ok bottom out was the wrong phrase to use, but my last sentence should have been the entire post--i don't think they will be as dominant...yeah they will make the playoffs but i have my reservations about whether they will go very deep...we shall see
