Just watched the Carolina game and...

..you Ramsey haters are way over reacting.

The sense that I got from this board and even the media was that Ramsey's performance was horrific. What I saw didn't give me that impression at all.

Ramsey made some poor throws, i.e. the interception, but overall the looked sharp and made good decisions. Of his misfires there was the interception, which was clearly a mistake. Then there was one deflected pass, and two incomplete passes to Patten. Thats it.

The complaint that he was just dumping off passes I think is ridiculous. If you watched the game on T.V. then you really can't see the runners routes to know who was open down field. T.V. only gives you a small box around the QB to see and what goes on downfield is out of frame. What I did notice was that carolina tended to rush five guys, and those were the only guys in frame. They ssent LB's on blitzes or into deep coverage. So Ramsey simply took what was there. Those of you who are complaining about short passes are the same people sho said that he couldn't be an NFL Quarterback because he forced throws downfield. Now that he is taking what is offered you criticize him for that.

The panthers changed their defense as the scrubs came off the bench. The coverages were different when playing aginst the supposedly weak armed Brunell, and the rookie QB, not that anyone should be surprised that Brunell looked good against the third team Defense.

The Pass protection looked really good, even with the second stringers in there. Backs were picking up blocks too.

The negatives that I saw on Offense were that Receivers were still running 6 yard outs on 3rd and 8....and QB's were still throwing to them. it would have been more encaouraging if Ramsey were able to better complete on 3rd down, but I won't knock him for that playing a vanilla scheme against a great Defense.

I wasn't too happy about how the Defense played. There was very little pass rush. It seemed that when we sent 6 or 7 they couldn't penetrate against the weak Carolina O-Line. And what was with all the missed tackles. Admittedly, we basically began the game with our second string defense. Hopefully with Griffin, Daniels, and Lavar ont he filed we will have a pass rush. And I know that our secondary will improve with Springs, and Rogers ont he field.

I missed the entire first half, and I was in NC, too. The local FOX affiliate where I was screwed up and was showing COPS the entire first half. I was so pissed. I had to keep checking ESPN2's crawler for scoring updates. What happened? Can someone give me the 411?

Shad I concur I sat down Monday to watch the game expecting to see a horrible Ramsey preformance based on what I read here. It just wasn't the case, he play Ok and I think given the opportunity would have played better.
