I was about to post a thread about this, but decided to check this one first. Maybe you should change the title to be more descriptive?
Anyway, the Eagles don't look like they've started playing yet. I'm sure it will improve, and has no bearing on the regular season.

I don't know, maybe. But who are they going to throw the ball to? And people believe are recievers are a Question mark.

Their recievers definitely are a question mark, but I don't think we can have it both ways -- where the 'skins were just having a first preseason outing, and the Eagles are falling apart. The scores from two bad plays (a miscomunication leading to an INT run back for a TD, and a bad kick that was run back for a TD). So, even if the Eagles will be worse this season because of the WRs, two plays in the first 2 minutes of the first preseason game don't define a season.

Yeah it was just funny how bad they started this game.

My impressions from the game probably vary greatly from most. I believe:
Roethlisberger will come back to earth this year so hard that the thud will be heard in China. Fans will be calling for Maddox by week 12. He looked gawdawful. Out of shape with a huge head.
Lewis is going to have a big year in Philly with or without Owens. The Philly O-line will still pass block and McNabb has to throw to someone.
Westbrook is a weapon. He's going to have a huge year and Reid is going to use him up if they don't resign him soon. I expect 350-400 touches for him.
Starks is going to struggle mightily and the dominant Pittsburgh line of year's past will suffer for it.

McNabb looked good besides that first pass.
Obviously they need to fix some holes in their kick coverage but they are going to be right back at the top of the NFC, even if TO doesn't play a down.
I hate the Eagles.

I watched for the first 10 minutes...and boy was I surprised at the score when I woke up. Can't comment on how anyone played after I went to bed.

Philly's younger recievers stepped it up. I guess it is more about the guy throwing the ball, than catching it.

I thought it was a typical preseason game... pretty much garbage.
What did surprise me was the AMOUNT of work that McNabb got (19 pass attempts)... I figured everyone would be a little gun-shy after Grossman's injury this week.
Curvey made some good points but why WOULDN'T Lewis have his best year yet... it's by default if nothing else.
I'm fairly sure the Eagles will still be the Eagles DESPITE how they looked early on, and we'll still be looking at them as the team to beat in the division. They still have McNabb and they still have Reid and I've been saying it for years... one need not look past those two to find the reason for Philly's success.

Like BH said, the second half of the game was pretty much garbage.
But the way the game panned out in the first few minutes, it looked to me like Pitt was right where they left off last year - and Hines didn't even play last night, but then again, he didn't really need to.
Philly looked terrible. McNabb looked confused - especially during a sack he took in the 2nd (?) quarter. It wasn't until the third quarter that I saw any kind of dominant play from Philly - and those guys will likely not see game time during the season anyway.
On a side note - I'm glad Curvey posted what he did....it's good to see an Eagles fan trying to reason out of a poor performance from his team, just as we so often do.
I don't really agree with his post, though. In the beginning of that game, when Pitt's starters were out there, they gave me absolutely no reason to believe that they will falter this year. Their defense is as solid as ever, their special teams obviously rocked, and even their offense (w/o Hines Ward in, or Plaxico Burress around) managed to trot the ball downfield. Philly, on the other hand, just looked dazed and confused.
Of course, this stuff is mostly meaningless (as I, myself, so often argue with regards to the Skins) because we are in the preseason; but some things can always be indicative of regular season play - we'll just have to wait and see.

Who cares its preseason, and it is against the No.1 ranked D.

Philly looked actually very good. They have a 4th rounder playing LT and I think he looks better than Samuels (who I'm really down on.)
Philly didn't blitz much, which was surprising.
The WRs look better than I thought, who the hell is this McMullen kid? He's freaking huge.
