He finally did it!

Jackson has been to several football practices. And as some of you know he is playing flag football. Today he pulled his first flag!! I was so proud. The other thing my child did was play QB better then any of the other little kids. His "down, set, hike" was so much clearer and louder then anyone elses. I'm bragging I know but while I'm at it, he's the youngest kid on the team and like the 3rd or 4th fastest. The only thing we need to work on his aggresiveness. Though he's getting there. I'm so proud of my little guy. I'm not the average mom though. Most of them were not paying attention during the drills. I was almost in tears when I saw him actually grab the ball from the center. lol Goofy I know. But it's the start of something great.

He will be 4 on Sunday. My little quarterback is growing up!

The funniest thing is last practice he hurt himself and actually came off of the field so that I could kiss it.

Theres no room for cute in football! Definately going to need to work on being aggressive.
When Jeremiah is old enough to get spankings we're going to place pictures of the opposing team infront of him so that he'll go beserk during games.

Well speaking of that GF. Jackson is actually playing on the Eagles. Had I picked the top 5 teams I didn't want him playing on that would have been on the list. So now my son who hears regularly how much I dislike T.O. has to put on an Eagles jersey. YIKES

The worst part is his coach is a freaking cowboys fan. I threatened to pull him off the field today when he started talking trash to me today. He did it before Scott showed up though or I'm sure he'd have done it right back. He actually said he counts the Skins as two automatic wins for his cowboys every year. Said he was going to take the skins sticker off my car. Jackson told him it didn't come off.

tell that coach to shove it--when i was a kid my football coach was a cowpukes fan too, it was terrible. not to mention that every guy on the team was either an eagles or a cowboys fan--tell jackson to stay strong and maybe the others will come around. hope he does extremely well and i wish him all the luck in the world, and hey--who knows, maybe he'll be suiting up for the skins in 18 years :-p

Was that Jackson I saw at the practice? I think it was. Man that kid says some funny stuff. I really laughed about how he said the sticker doesn't come off.

At Saturday's practice my baby scored his first touchdown. He actually ran it in from about 40 yards out. It was beautiful. I think my MIL got video footage and if she did I'll be posting a link hopefully.
He also was the only child during all of practice that was allowed to practice the passing plays. He hit the kid in the hands everytime. Now we just need to find a child who can catch the ball. I'll keep you posted on his progress but for his first attempt at organized sports he's not doing half bad. Oh and this part I totally take credit for, during the snap he is by far the loudest kid out there. He definitely gets that from me!

I hope when I have kids they are just as good as your son at football.
Maybe he is the loudest kid out there because he has been watching Brunell too much
Just kidding, I know I don't know you and I have seen you tear some people on this board a new one, so please don't take anything I said personally.

I knows this may sound stupid but I am asking anyway
Do the kids play on a full size field with full size footballs?
Wow a 40 yard run - I could not have run that far at his age. Very impressive.

SFIH I would never take it personally, but your comment made me laugh. Jackson actually needs to work on a few areas of playing, I'm just telling you the good parts!

He first couple of practices didn't go as smoothly as Saturday's did just ask those close to me and they'll tell you I was a little disappointed not to see him be the star out there in the begining. It's all about being patient and encouraging though.
Actually Amberion they play on what appears to be a 50 yard field. And it was a huge run for his little tiny legs. And they use an official lisenced Pee Wee football, he got one for his birthday so he can practice at home!
