Technically, the event is in Annapolis. It's not as "right up the road" as I thought but I still know how to get there.

Is Pat Fischer going to be there JF? How could we possibly find McDole without Fischer... I just didn't think that happened.
Incidentally, if you've never met either of these guys -- both are a real trip and two of the best Redskin alumni that you could ever hope to come across. Down to earth... funny... full of good stories... they will certainly make you smile. Players like these guys provide a stark contrast to some of the attitudes that you will sometimes find with the 'modern-day' players.

We had Pat Fischer at our last show on June 26th (along with Chris Hanburger and Roy Jefferson), but we didn't have a good turnout for the event. My business partner, who runs shows frequently in the Philadelphia area, decided to give this area one more shot- so please do whatever you can to spread the word about this event. We will run more shows in the future if we get better turnout this time. Autographs at the show run between $10-$15 for any item (including full size helmets, jerseys, and footballs). We also provide mail order (please e-mail me at
matt_gonter@yahoo.com for prices).
The Annapolis Elks Lodge is located on the corner of Solomons Island Rd (MD 2) and Aris T Allen Blvd (MD 665). To get there take US 50 towards Annapolis, to MD 665 South, go two miles and exit at MD 2. When you reach the end of the MD 2 off-ramp, go straight through the traffic light and make a left turn at the dead end. The Elks Lodge will be on your left. Even though the zip code is Edgewater, it is only two miles from US 50 near the Annapolis Mall.
Yes, Pat Fischer is crazy- but definitely in a good way!

He was great at Spiggy's birthday party. He actually snuck out into the lobby to actually have an opportunity to eat, and several people walked up to him and asked for an autograph. Not only did he oblige them, but he went on for at least 15 minutes talking about the Hogettes and Ron McDole and the Redskins.
I had a good opportunity to talk to Ron that day too. Pat told me to ask him about his Dancing Bear nickname, and I'm glad he did. Anyone who is going, be sure to ask him. You won't regret it.

I am not going.
Tons of tough work including travel starting tomorrow.
What is the story? Can you at least tell -after- the event?

Well, there is a little less than a month until this show. If we want to be able to have these happen more frequently, we need to support this one.

The autograph show is a little over 4 days away! I'm hoping for a really high turnout so that we can have shows like this again in the future. We will have 8x10 photos and a limited supply of mini helmets for sale that you can get signed. Kenny Houston lives in Texas, so he doesn't appear often in the DC area.
Please feel free to call me at 240-462-7540 if you have any questions about the lineup and signing times. If you're a member of thehogs.net message board be sure to stop and say "Hi" to me.
A special thanks to Scott for all of his help in promoting this event!

Ahhh I was going to post tomorrow to remind everyone, but you beat me to it.
I hope all of our members close by stop in. You get a whole new perspective from the players of yesteryear then today's players, because they played because they loved it. It certainly wasn't for the money, since most of them were forced to get jobs in the off-season.
I believe it was Sam Huff who used to bag groceries in West Virginia when he wasn't decapitating quarterbacks.

Kenny Houston and Larry Brown.
But McDole will likely be the most entertaining. Wish I was close enough to attend. Someone go in my place will ya?
Best of luck on the event Matt.
