Antonio daniels is coming here from the sonics reports espn.
but i'm wondering what will he play, and they say his defense is good but he only has .7 steals a game last season. and we just got butler, we really need another big man down low in the 4 position.

Sonics lose free-agent guard Antonio Daniels to Wizards
By Percy Allen
Seattle Times staff reporter

ROD MAR / THE SEATTLE TIMES
Antonio Daniels won an NBA title with the San Antonio Spurs in 1999.
The Sonics lost another key contributor to last season's team when guard Antonio Daniels agreed to a five-year, $30 million deal with the Washington Wizards last night.
Daniels and his agent Tony Dutt each confirmed the deal this morning. A source with the Sonics said yesterday the team was prepared to lose its backup point guard, who spent the past two seasons in Seattle. He averaged career highs in points (11.2) and assists (4.1) last season.p>
The Sonics were willing to give Daniels their mid-level exception of $5 million per year, but they were unwilling to go beyond three years primarily because of his age (30) and nagging knee problems last season.
Daniels, the top point guard on the free-agent market, also drew serious consideration from Utah, the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland. He's expected to sign the contract Friday when the NBA lifts its moratorium on free-agent signings.
Since the end of their 52-30 season, the Sonics moved quickly to retain All-Star guard Ray Allen, who agreed to a five-year, $80 million deal, but they lost coach Nate McMillan to Portland and center Jerome James to New York.
The Sonics' focus now turns to restricted free agent Vladimir Radmanovic. They can match any deal he receives from another team and have extended a five-year proposal worth an estimated $30 million to $36 million.

Well, as a team overloaded with Guards, signing another wasn't exactly on the top of my wish list, but Grunfeld knows what he's doing, so I'll have to convince myself it's all part of a bigger plan.
Unfortunately, with Dixon and Blake both being free agents, the return of my favorite player seems to be highly unlikely at this point.

Yeah and then what are you going to do with that Dixon jersey? Man first you jinx Jansen and now Juan. What's the world coming to?

Bad signing for the Wizards... They shoulda went harder after someone like Donyell Marshall or maybe tried to get Stromile Swift who both signed for around the MLE range. 30 million for a 30 yr. old journeyman combo guard with bad knees is a bad signing

Someone said that it was a good deal. He is a shooter and allows caron butler to play the 3 more. but i think that means jamison will be playing the four.
i still want a consistent big man down there. marshall would have been good.
what now..

This signing is confusing. But I am going to trust them for now. But if Dixon or Blake leaves, I am going to Rant. And it's porbably going to have to go to the Smack forum.

As much as I love Juan and Stevie, and the fact that we had a trifecta of former Terps last year, I wouldn't mind seeing someone go, if it meant the Wizards going deeper into the postseason next year.
If only one of the two of them go, I think I would let Stevie go, and try to hold on to Juan. He only saw limited playing time last year, and Juan showed some serious spark during a few games. It sucks, because I cheer for both of them.
Where's our BIG? We need to get another BIG!!!

How about making brenda haywood the power foward and Etan can play center.....haywood gets punked under the basket half the time anyway.

If Haywood and Etan could stop fidgeting so much when they're under the hoop, they could be so dominant. I hate how they both sometimes tend to go up, down, up, down, up........before just commiting to the basket. Just put it in the hole!

I don't think Haywood could play the 4, he has no speed and no jump shot.
Etan hopefully will get better if he stop getting hurt.
Haywood also showed a lot of development last year.
