There are 8 ways a baseball player can get on base without getting a hit. Can you name them all?

1. Base on balls.

2. Hit by pitch.

3. Balk.

4. Ummm.....

1. walk
2. hit by pitch
3. catcher interference
4. Beat out the play (basehit)
5. Catcher misses ball on 3rd strike, batter beat out the play
6. pitcher balks with 3 balls
7. error
8.Fielder's choice (get the lead runner)

bonus 9. Put in as a pinch runner

Are you sure about that? I swear in an O's game 2 or 3 nights ago, that situation came up. The runner that was already on second moved to third, but I'm pretty sure Steve Kline (O's reliever) balked (which was complete BS - but anyway) on a 3-0 count to the batter; he was ejected after arguing, and another relief pitcher came in and made another pitch, which happened to be ball 4.

The count could have been 2-0, and gone to 3-0 with the balk, but I'm pretty sure it was already a 3-0 count.
