Well my sister is soon to be married in two years and this year they will be having an engagement party(She lives in NY). I knew as soon as they said it would be in October that it would be a day when the skins are home. Sure enough the party is on Oct. 2nd and sure enough the Skins are at home against Seattle. To sum things up I will not be traveling to NY on Oct. 2nd, but rather to Fedex Field. I mean its only an engagement party it isn't the wedding or anything important. I think engagement parties are a bunch of crap and are just to get presents anyways lol. Oh well this led me to wonder what are some of the things you all have missed in order to do something skins related, whether it was going to a game. watching a game on tv, etc. I know there has to be some funny stories out there, lets hear them!

hmmm... Is there no way you can attend and still manage to watch the full game on TV?

Anyway, who am to talk, I'd probably be at the game too. It is the wedding that's important...

I started to record the games and catch what was left. Now I just go to the 8am service if they play at 1pm. If they play at 4 I can go to my 11am service.

When the Redskins would lose to the Eagles, Giants or Cowboys, I would sometimes skip school on Monday.

I rode the bus with the most annoying and obnoxious Eagles and Giants fans. If I went to school I would have probably gotten kicked off of the bus for fighting.

I was in the same boat as CLL. I used to skip church to watch the games.Since i found a closer church i just go to the one not too far from my house. All of their services are an hour long so i can go at 11AM and still get back in time for the game!!!!

I'm not proud of this, but I once cut a date short to catch the second half of a redskins pre-season game. Needless to say there was no second date.

I got married on a Sat. and watched the Redskins in a bar in Charlston SC (halfway to our honeymoon destination) the next day. Luckily the new wife was and is a Redskins fan as well. Why do you think I married her!

Greetings from NYC: This year the NYC marathon is the same day as the Eagles game. I am planning to run the marathon, take a fast shower and head down for the game. The only way I will miss the game is if I get hurt or run to slow and finish too late to make the game! Thank God for 8:30pm games and thank god for Saturday services. The number 1 team I hated was the Cowboys until last year when I meet the Eagle fans at our stadium.

I wont miss a game unless Im dead or something, I would never work or anything if the Skins are playing, People who know me know not to even ask or schdule me for anything if the Skins are playing, Everything revolves around the Redskins, I local newspapers around my area have done articles on my Redskin madness, And my Apartment is nothing but Redskins stuff in it, I was Super fan in what was the Redskin Review newspaper a few years back, And in the 93 season I was 3rd in the yearly contest, I still have my Tee shirt proudly displayed, I love all things Redskins..

Unfortunately, I will be in Belize on my honeymoon for the home opener this year. I do everything in my power to watch every game, but unless I can find coverage while simultaneously hauling a scuba tank around in the 'Blue Hole,' I doubt I'll get to see the game against da bears.

Makes you wonder when they're going to create microscopic NFL Sunday Ticket implants - or even a replacement wireless HD-ready eyeball, complete with DLP technology. :D

Well how about this....I got married on Sept. 6 2002. My wife wanted to get married on Sept 7, since her granparents were married on that date 60 yrs before and she wanted to celebrate it with her granpa´s .... so I log on to the Post webpage to see the newly publicated redskins Schedule and there it was Sept. 8 Spurrier first game vs the Cards at Fedex......Hmmmmmm i thought....My wife hates football, loves shopping, loves the Stones....The Stones are on Tour...

Baby...I dont wanna have the same aniversary date as your granparents, I think we have to be ourself...I think 1 day off is good enough and at midnight we´ll stop the music and we´ll have a toast for your "abuelitos". Then we´ll have to catch a plane at 7 am for Miami and then another at 4 pm to DC. On Sunday you´ll have access for the first time to my Credit Card :? I´ll let you go shopping to Pentagon City Mall and I´ll go to the game....hehehhe then on Wed. we´ll board a plane to Chicago to catch a Stones Concert, back to DC on Monday to catch the Monday Night Game vs Eagles.

Well it worked....She saw thru it, but at least I compromised on the Stones concert.

She had only been to DC once... and never got to see the town very well, so I showed her the museums, the mall and such...It was very Romantic....

We got back from the wedding party at 4 am and we were at the plane at 7 we arrived in DC on Sept 7 at 9 pm with a HUGEEEEEEEEEEE HANGOVER and HEADACHE. we got dinner at our Arlington hotel and I was up at 10 am to go to the GAME. Sure enough a first game win for Spurrier, the first of few and then when i was back...... I had a $700 bill on my credit card....she bought the damn Mall, but I was happy as hell.

I guess that´s why God gave quads 9 months latter.....

Jorge........from Panamá

Can i tell you guys how refreshing it is to finally see that I just may be sane? Years I go through these things, just as all of you to struggle to see every game and ppl think I'm crazy!

Hey NC43... I was in the same situation! She wasnt a SKINS fan then, but she understood cuz I explained months earlier, in order to be my wife and be a part of this family... gotta put SKINS first! She actually agreed with no attitude... :D

since in NJ i get inly about 5 games on local/national TV i end up on foxsports.com watching updates every minute! its rediculous every sunday

Dude theres so many bars in NJ that I go to if I have to visit my in laws on a sunday to watch the game... you should do that...

My girlfriend is a Steelers fan. She had all kinds of steelers stuff on her car. When I met her I told her that stuff would have to go. She laughed and thought I was kidding. She took most of it off. However she could not remove the steelers bumper sticker because it would remove the paint. Needless to say she is now driving a 2005 Mazda3s with a redskins license plate. Buying the car so that i could rep my skins was well worth it.

I got married in December 1990. We were late starting the ceremony because I had a small tv with me in the room to the side of the church, and I didn't come out until the game was over. My wife was really mad, but I told her that we'd paid to have the folks play some music, so let them earn it!

I guess some of your stories are a little more outrageous...but I also have a story of my own. I once spent $200 for a hotel room just to watch a Redskins PRESEASON game. I was not in town and the place where I was (my friends place) did not have cable. They were showing the game on ESPN. I spent the whole morning trying to figure out where I can watch the game. At the end, I ended up paying $200 for a hotel room in which I did not even sleep that night.
It was the game in Osaka with SSpurrier. We ended up beating the 49ers, which made me think it WAS worth the 200. Now when I think about it....I do regret it a little. I could've spent that money just going to a game at FedEx. I probably could've gotten great seats with that much money, right? But that's just a story about how much of a fanatic I am of my team. Love them whoever is coaching, where ever they're playing, however they're doing.

One time, the saturday before opening day I had a big party, like 100 miles from my house. The party started at noon and I was supposed to sleep in a hotel, wake up early sunday and drive back to my annual opening day festivities. In the middle of the party, pretty much loaded, I told my girlfrind to pack it up cause I was going home. Subconciously I was afraid to oversleep and miss the skins game on opening day. I just drove a couple of miles before turning the wheel to my now wife, who was angry as hell, and, years later, still reminds me of the incident.
