Tyson quit during the 6th round of his fight with Kevin McBride.

ESPN reports that he quit on his stool and after the fight he said he will retire from boxing.

.......... wow.

"I'm gonna gut him like a fish."

Well, someone lost their guts and it sure wasn't McBride.

Iron Mike's old. Im sure he knew he wasnt gonna win the fight, he was just trying to hype it up so he could get more money out of it. Oh well, he was amazing in his prime and 20 years from now people will remember he was a great fighter despite his knack for doing weird things (biting evanders ear, getting that awful tattoo, etc.)

Considering his speech imprediment it's not surprising he was misquoted. He actually sayd "I'm gonna quit him like a bith."

I wish he could have gotten his act together, he was my favorite fighter as a child.

Mike Tyson is a restless soul. He had all the skills but no one to lead him anywhere. Ever since Cus Damato died he has not had anyone to lead him. I for one feel very badly for Tyson. He's still one of the 4 people I would invite to dinner. To pick his brain would be to look inside someone with many more demons than you or I could ever imagine. I have always been a fan of Tyson but I knew he would lose this fight. He was just fighting for the check, he has no more fire left in him.
I challenge someone to read up on him and you'll soon see he is much more than what his pre-fight antics show.
Just my opinion.

At 39 he is finally growing up
50-5 isn't a bad record for a heavyweight, had he stopped when he should have he'd be like 49-1
Now let's hope no one can talk him back into the rink

$5 million for six rounds :hmm: didn't he want $10 for this fight :hmm:

Wealth + Losing Everything = 1 more payday.

It would not shock me to see in 2 years Tyson back in the ring. Hell if I lost everything I would go back for one more payday.

I liked Cinderella Man so much that I started a thread here in the Lounge on it a few days ago.

Tyson is $40 million in debt. He made $6 million for this fight. Do the math.

The man is trying to scrape some money together, but I think a cool head during public appearances would better suit him these days; rather than talkin' trash and bowing out of all his recent fights.
