NFL football arrives a week early for Redskins and Baltimore Ravens fans: the Redskins will travel to Baltimore on Saturday, Aug. 6, to scrimmage the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium, the teams have announced.

The scrimmage is set to begin at 12 noon ET. Tickets are available through the Baltimore Ravens ticket office.
This is the first Redskins' preseason scrimmage since the 2000 season, when the team hosted the Ravens at FedExField. That contest ended shortly after it started due to thunderstorm and lightning conditions.
In years past, the Redskins scrimmaged the Pittsburgh Steelers on a regular basis.
A week after the Redskins-Ravens scrimmage, the Redskins will travel to Charlotte, N.C., to officially open the preseason schedule against the Carolina Panthers. The game, held at Bank of America Stadium, is slated to begin at 8 p.m. ET.
On Friday, Aug. 19, the preseason opener at FedExField features the Redskins playing the Cincinnati Bengals. Game time is 8 p.m. ET.
The Pittsburgh Steelers come to FedExField on Friday, Aug. 26 for the third preseason game. This game, slated for 8 p.m. ET, will be nationally televised by FOX.
The Redskins and Ravens close out the preseason on Thursday, Sept. 1 with an 8 p.m. ET game at M&T Bank Stadium.

Does anyone know if this is going to be a televised event? I don't really want to go up to Balitmore and pay to watch a scrimmage but if it's not televised...I guess I'll have to. I'm pretty sure they weren't televised in the past....

This is great I'm on vacation that week what a perfect way to end it. I'll be there. As far as tickets I'm sure there will be some to be had. I thought I heard they would cost $12 but I'm not positive about that. Tomorrow I'll try and find out for sure.
This scrimage may be more competative than the pre-season game later.

$12 are you kidding me??? Is it THAT cheap? Damn....I might just end up going if it's like that! I was expecting it to be in the upper double digits.

Today, the Baltimore Ravens front office said whothey decided was the best "12th man" for the Redskins would get a specialtreat paid for by the Ravens front office. They will get a FREE limo ride with Ray Lewis with drinks, sound proof walls, and everything! Just be an obnoxious fan!

Sorry guys, This may sound a dumb question, but what exactly is this 'scrimmage' all about? is it a full pre-season game or what?

No, it's basically a practice. Each team gets a certain number of plays or drives, I forget which. After that it's pretty much over.
I could be forgetting something, like field goal practice or a gunfight or something, but I'm pretty sure that's the gist of it.

I guess we better not hit those Ravens players too hard huh, else the NFL will be after taking a few more OTA's off us.

This is during TC... it'll be 'full contact'. But it will be very scripted in that teams usually just run a set of offensive and defensive stat packages. It's just to get their 'feet wet'.
Being that I'll be at camp at the time, I'll probably be heading to Baltimore for the scrimmage too.

Okay I saw today that tickets will be $12 for adults and $7 for kids. It didn't say but I think you need to go through the Ravens office for the tickets.
