Well, here I am at my 3,000th post.
I am certainly not going to try to complete with Chris Luva Luva’s 3K post. I mean, really, who can even come close to touching that one?
I will say this….
I first discovered THN in the Spring of 2003. I was the 6th person to join these message boards on June 10th, 2003. Since then, I have seen the great work Mark (and staff) have done to improve this site…and they keep improving…and impressing me day in and day out. To them, I offer my heartfelt “thanks” for their hard work and dedication.
I was honored to be a MOD of this site for quite a while. Because of other commitments, and because I felt it wouldn’t be fair to put more work on the other MODS without doing my share, I asked to step down from that position several months ago. While a staff member of this site, I really enjoyed helping out, writing a few articles here and there, and doing whatever I could to help this site out. Although some MODS play smaller roles than others, all MODS should be thanked for the work they do here.
As for the rest of you folks.
I have met several folks at the tailgate: DEHog, Hailskins666, Wingman, JPFair, Jake, Skinschic, and Hill66 to name just a few. Each person I have met personally has been a person of substance, a person of “quality”. To be quite candid, there’s nothing quite like pounding a few beers at 9:30 a.m. with my fellow THN brothers while tailgating at a Skins game! (Not mentioning any names, Hailskins666)
To those of you that I have never met personally, I have very much enjoyed my discussions with you on these boards. Like a lot of you, I certainly cannot claim that all of my posts here were loaded with substance; however, I try to do my part to add to the threads and to give people things to think about now and then. I have also truly enjoyed giving many of you the “play by play” accounts of my two murder trials. (FYI, sentencing is still pending on the second one…no date yet.)
The big thing that makes these message boards “click” the way they do is the fact that all views are welcomed here. Trash talking is limited to the appropriate forum. Otherwise, people of all backgrounds are encouraged to give their two cents. When they do, for the most part, it encourages quality discussions….until some trolling butt-wipe ruins it.
While I don’t post at a rate of others, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the posts of others…and participating when I can.
To Mark: Thanks for the site, dude. I just can’t find any other adjective to adequately describe how proud of you I am for what you’ve been able to do here….and to describe how much I enjoy this site.
To THN staff: thank you so very much for all you do. Please keep up the good work!
To the rest of you: thank you for participating with this site to help give it such quality. Thank you (for the most part) for your quality posts on these message boards.
To you trolls:
Oh well…..that’s all I have. Certainly not competition for CLL….but at least it came from the heart.
