My mom told me that someone who is a cousin of a friend of her co-worker at work (or something like that

). That person went to a party that was hosted by Texans owner Bob McNair (I think that's his name). McNair invited a bunch of owners to come and enjoy the illiustrius party. What do ya know? One of those owners was Danny boy. McNair was greeting the invitees and owners at the door and when Dan Snyder came to the door and McNair said something like, Hello Dan, and then danny boy goes "I prefer Mr. Snyder". Then McNair said "Well, you can just leave then". Good for you, Bob! Here is a 39 year old punk telling a 70 year old man to call him mister. And there, ladies and gentleman, is another reason for you all to hate Dan Snyder. I bet he REALLY has a bad rep with the owners now. Hey Danny, YOU SUCK!

Ok, I feel better now.

i believe i would have responded with "mrs. snyder" or get the %#!& off my porch, bitch, or even somthing i shouldn't write in this particular forum. thats just plain disrespectful. and while this is a rumor, i could definantly see snyders arrogant ass doing something like that.

No, it's not a rumor. It really happened. Someone witnessed it. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. (Maybe I should have not been so surprised).

here's what I would have said if I was McNair...
"Oh isn't that cute?
Mr. Snyder it is then. And look what a grown up little man you are Mr. Snyder. With your suit and tie, I nearly thought you were an actual adult, little guy.
Now the children's table is over there young man... just go and sit with the rest of the kids and have a good time. If you're really good, we'll bring you some candy and maybe the other kids will call you Mr."

This story is just a little hard to swallow. I met Snyder a couple of years ago in Dallas. I called him Dan, and asked him to sign my hat. He did so with a smile, and made a derogatory remark about the Cowboys. We laughed, shook hands, and he left with his entourage. Also, he and the Texans' owner have been friends for a while. Don't you remember Snyder sending flowers when the Texans beat the Cowboys? That was a classic moment. You don't have to like Snyder, but quit spreading these lies to make him look worse than he really is. He's actually an ok guy.

Well said, all he has shown to us is, he is willing to take chances to make this thing work, he is willing to spend ever penny he has to win. I personally never met the guy, but would like to, he is okay in my books and I have been a skins fan all my life I am 30, which isn't as old as some of you on this board, but I never quit believing this thing is going to work out as some off the people on this board have said, such as goodbye redskins fan, whatever we don't need that, nor do we need more bashing on the owner.
Happy New Year, and hopefully we get things on the coach done soon, so he can meet and greet the 2004 Division champs, we can start dreaming now that the season is over,
GO CAROLINA !!!!

It's not a lie. Why would someone who doesnt care about football lie about hearing this?
Posted: Thu Jan 01, 2004 1:05 pm
by tx_skins_fan
Because everyone loves to hate Danny boy. Besides, what is someone who doesn't care about football hanging out with Snyder and McNair for anyway?

He/she works for the Texans.

If this person works for a football organization, don't you think he/she would have some interest in football? The trend in the NFL right now is to bash Snyder. I'm not going to believe every little thing I hear or read about him. It's all hearsay.

Not everybody is always happy with their jobs. Just because he/she works for a football team doesnt mean he/she cares about football. Someone could be an office assistant and just be intersted in keeping businesses well run and orgnaized and not really give a hoot about what that particular business specializes in.

I always believe what I hear from my mom's co-worker's friend's cousin!

It's gotta be true.

Yeah. That seems like a real reliable source.

I don't but a bit of it... the chances of that being true are slim and none... First of all, did you hear all of the connections [/quote] a cousin of a friend of her co-worker at work....
Second of all, any time I have ever seen Snyder in the public eye, or spoken to him, he has been extremely pleasent...
He is the key to many problems revolving around this football team, I agree, but he is trying his best to win... Right now, he just doesn't know how... but lets not knock him with random rumours with no factual evidence, or any evidenc whatsoever for that matter

It's a True Story whether you "choose" to believe it or not is up to you. Dan Snyder is an arrogant little punk and I agree with the Boss's handling of that situation.

This thread is digressing to a bickering contest, so let's put a stop to it.
As for all the know-it-alls who say that this can't possible be true...
In the last 6 months, I have been told of COLOSSAL Redskin events BEFORE they happen 3 different times. Each time, the reason for knowing they would happen was STUPID and I was told that I could not reveal the source! All 3 times, the predicted event occurred.
Don't slam a fan for relaying a piece of gossip/news that they heard... if you choose not to believe it... that's your prerogative. BUT DON'T EVER deter someone from posting that news by chastising them for it. You all may not appreciate the news because you think it's false... but some of us are adult enough to draw our own conclusions as to it's validity, and appreciate ALL pieces of the Redskins puzzle.
If you don't let someone freely express a rumor that they heard... they'll stop posting them... and I personally don't want that.
Cripes, we all read the Post and Times like they are gospel and I have witnessed their 'stretches' and 'fabrications' first hand. I guess since they're a news source, they're allowed?
It's hard enough for me to censor language in the boards, I'll be damned if I'm going to start censoring thoughts and ideas too.

Amen BH.
Everyone's entitled to their opinions and nobody should feel sheepish about expressing them. This is the land of the free!!!!!

I couldn't have said it better. I'll shed some light here. I was one of the 3...I said SS was gone last week before the Eagles game...Boss ask what made me say that? I PM him and told him what I knew...it was pretty good info but If I had posted it here you guys would have had a field day with it. Boss can back me up...and already has by saying all the things he was told came true.

Yes DE, I was just honoring your wishes to keep it quiet. (Mom always said I kept a secret well)
You never know where info is going to come from and if you think that you're going to get a MORE accurate view from the press -- you're kidding yourselves.
If you don't wanna believe something -- that's cool and definitely your prerogative -- but let's not start censoring things because some of you find them 'far-fetched'.
I recognize that the internet is a cesspool for misinformed journalism, but it's also the power of free speech in it's purest form. Take that for what it's worth.

I agree about leaving the Snyder bashing to the media. I got no beef with Snyder. He's a fan through and through and cares as much as the rest of us about our/his franchise succeeding. Hell....there are far worse owners out there. Anyone want to trade Dan for Jerry, Art or Al? Not me! Let's support him and make sure he gives us what we want and that's a winner!
