i can think of very few things more completely pointless and futile than a mock draft for 2008. totally masturbatory! there is no possible way to have any idea what teams will need and how good they will be that far into the future.

I've said it for years. If you want the best mock draft out there you've got to hit up a Geocities site.

Well, either Geocities or the customer book reviews on Amazon. . .but yeah, I hear from my professors that my papers have circulated 'round the faculty because they have to 'see them to believe them'. They must love them. . .

Did you know they've got a whole website set up about your papers?

The geocities address obviously makes it hard to take this mock seriously.
But the guy who actually did the mock draft couldn't possibly know less or be a less credible source than Pete Prisco, and his mock appears on CBSSportsline.com
I'll wait for Mel Kiper's take.

"Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph."
*sniff* That's beautiful, man.

Deleted it because I thought that I found something better (but it turns out that I didn't).
Well, at least you saved that one. Try pitching
that to a publisher, I haven't had any luck. . .but if you ever make it big don't act like you learned it all on your own.

I'll always remember the little people I stepped on along the way.

Notice the progression - This year, 6th worst in the league.
Next in the playoffs, with a great season - 25th overall, and then superbowl winners in 2008.
Interesting...
What kills his draft aside from Geocities, is that he has picks 21, 23, 25, 26 all for the NFC East. Not really possible without trades, etc.
