I was thinking and it might be stupid but i was thinkng that we should sign fredex and trade him and Gardner in one package we might be able to land a pretty good DE or something that we need.
What do you all think

That wouldn't happen.
Not only do people not want Gardner, but they really dont want Mitchell. They both suck.
The only reason I would want to sign Mitchell, is so we could drop him.

Yeah but if we put them together they might semi-suck lol
but yeah wont happen i guess.

Hey Washington53......that is wishful thinking. I was thinking something similar to that not even a weak ago, but that deal would be to good to be true.

The thought was there man; all of us would love to see a trade go through like that. With our luck we'd sign Freddy and be stuck with both for eternity.

You cant sign a player and then turn around and trade him for something of value.
If someone wanted Freddie Mitchell they'd just sign him themselves.

The problem with Gardner, is that he made his desire to leave public, and Gibbs has made public comments about him not being back. We basically gave away our bargaining power. Teams interested in Gardner are sure he will be released sometime after June 1 so no one will trade with us.
Our last resort to regain some bargaining power is to not cut him, let training camps get underway, and then teams may be willing to make the trade to get him into their camp.
Right now that is not likely because no one expects us to keep Gardner.

Better yet send Gardner to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

this is a completely irrational trade scenario. This isnt Madden man, you cant sign players to trade them away!

bad post of the year nominee
The only guy in the NFL that would trade something for 2 guys that were going to be available for free is Vinny Cerrato.
He already did it with Brunell.
Other than that, no team would trade for Mitchell (cause he's a free agent), and Gardner (cause there is a bias towards the Skins).
Last year the Jaguars got a 4th round pick for Kevin Johnson....and he sucked. But the Skins can't even get that even though Gardner is better.

Thats probably 'cause Kevin Johnson is considered to have one of the best pair of hands in the league

Great, I'd sign Fred Ex and trade him and Gardner for a conditional seventh round pick and some magic beans.

Hogsters on point... we have to keep him and let him dangle in July for some teams to get impatient and make an offer before pre season.

What is in the water in Virginia ??? At this point Freddie's future is as bright as Freddie Mercury and Gardner could not be traded for Sam Adams (the beer, not the DT)

They can't even get a trade Gardner by himself, so why would packaging him with Freddie be any better. They both stink.

As much as I love Coach Gibbs, he needs to take a page out of the Ernie Grunfeld School of Player Personnel. To wit: Grunfeld is saying that he's not ruling out the possibility of bringing Kwame Brown back when, in reality, they want to get rid of him. He's even talking up his 7-foot-265-pound frame and how he's a young, developing player. This is in hopes of getting someone of value in return to play for the Wizards. If Gibbs took this approach, we wouldn't be having this Gardner situation now. Again, this is why we need a REAL general manager.
