Adam Schefter on Total Access talking about Mitchell's possible release from the Eagles. Then said something about the skins may be interested and that his future depended partly on that interest?
I'll watch again in an hour and listen better. Its hard to read thehogs.net and hear the t.v. at the same time.

no way. even if he didn't suck (which he does), freddie mitchell is not a "gibbs type of guy". there would be no reason on earth to waste time and money on that idiot.

Schefter said the skins were the only team he could think of that may have an interest.

I don't think it is a big surprise that they're thinking about releasing him. There's no way the Skins are going to pick him up though.
I'd like to get him if he asked for a little bit of money JUST because of his crazy talk, not play. Remember when we had Smoot and he'd talk the talk? Well...we don't really have a vocal player as him now.
But other than that, I don't want him here. We already have enough at WR.

I thought our stadium sponsor was mad at him for selling FredEx shirts.

Don't shun me, but I like Freddie Mitchell, he's a fun loving easy going guy. Say what you will about his playing ability, he's still a pretty stand up guy.

Just curious. What has Freddie Mitchell done to rate him a stand up guy?
I don't follow the Eagles that closely, but everything I've ever seen involving Freddie Mitchell has been kind of idiotic.

I saw this too yesterday.
I'd rather keep 50/50 than bring this guy in. He´s a very recognizable Iggle for gods sake!

NO! I would think that from all indications we are going to look at the WRs we have and maybe Joe and Musgrave feel that this group has the skill and "fit" to suit what they want to do better than some of the other "name" people that might be there. I agree Terri, D Mac & T J will be given a much closer look (or already have!) Thrash is a "contributor" and will be here!
I also think that 50/50 will not be here when/if these guys can make Bill & Joe "happy" with who they have. I think they are still hoping to "get" something for him (anything?)! I do not see him being a part of the type of chemistry that Joe is looking for but who knows what is happening really?
From the sounds of it there seems to be a lot of very "informed" people at this site! I'm content to just stay here and "be informed".
no worries, mate!

i live here in philly and have seen him play. he has game. he's not a #1 guy but he would be a great compliment. he plays 100% the whole game and he gets open. i'm not advocating signing him but i wouldnt get bent out of shape either. also, look at it this way if they did sign him. HE WOULD HAVE ALOT TO PROVE!! especially to the eagles.

For those of you Freedie Haters, Philly would not have made it in the playoffs last year without him.
Also, he has gone on record saying that he would "love to play for Joe Gibbs" ever before talk of releasing him came up.
A change of scenery may not be bad for Freddie.
Food for thought

You guys do not like the playoff
"hair-do"?
You guys do not like The Mouth with a Jersey?
You guys do not like the t-shirt marketing skill?
You guys do not like the "stand-up" comediant?
He is not cheap. He is not funny. He is not a good teamate.
Then he could be a Raider!
Ooops! He is not even a good number 2 WR.
Forget the Raider idea.
Skinsfan55, he is all
YOURS.

We don't need this guy.
While we do not have one outstanding WR, we do have several solid WRs and I feel comfortable with our WR group as is. Adding a mediocre player like Freddie Mitchell for the off chance that a ball might bounce up into his hands in the end zone during a key game is a risk not worth taking.
Let someone else make this mistake.

Anyone who heard him all of last year would think this big-mouth had 85 catches for 1,300 yards.
HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE 30 CATCHES ALL OF LAST YEAR. !!!!!
See ya in the Arena League CHUMP.

Freddie mentioned wanting to play for the Skins and with stats like 1264 receiving yeards, he's - oh wait those are his career totals? No Way this guy is 2nd only to KW II as America's Dumbets athlete and not a Gibbs guy.

I seem to remember some team doing that to us a few years ago with one of our ex- OL....maybe it was the Pats? or the Bucs?
Either way I really like the idea.

Geeeez!
I thought I would never feel sorry for P. fans but...
1. T.O. is holding out, possibly for the whole season. Predicted cancer?
2. Freddie Mitchell is
STILL an Eagle. A mouth anybody?
3) Ms.
PINKston? Equal rights for aligator-arms in the NFL?
4) Problems with Westbrook, Simon, ...
Naaaaah!
