The Redskins should trade Rod Gardner for Jerry Rice and a #2 since they stupidly traded that #1 away. Make Jerry a number 3 WR and have him be a teacher. He will definately come in the clutch and make him a WR coach in '07.

With whom should they trade? The Seahawks released Rice a couple of months ago.

Hey you know what, I think Gardner will be with us next year and he's going to live up to his potential. He might not be a superstar but he'll play a lot better than he has in the past.
I don't think anyone wants Garder so we'll be forced to keep him....and I think that might not be a bad thing!

A 2 for Rod Gardner?

I wish.

Maybe if the old Dolphins management team was still together. They just give 2's away apparently.

yes it is a bad thing. It keeps Jacobs off the field. A guy that wants to be here. Gardner has been on the field to long for us. I wish they would kick his lazy hiney off the team and save 2.whatever million on the cap this year. They need the cap space more than they need Gardner.

Exactly my thoughts unter13. We need to see how good Jacobs will be and this year is when he is going to prove it.

I agree that we need to get Jacobs on the field, and that Gardner probably needs to move on, but is there any evidence that Gardner is lazy? Or is that just an adjective we are assigning to anyone who doesn't mesh perfectly with Gibbs?

If we are going to bring players out of "retirement" why not Art Monk?

Come on now he didn't get labled 50/50 because he's a hard worker. Can you picture it now Rod Gardner spending extra time working on his hands or his route running. If he was out on the field tring hard to get open he would've got a lot more balls throw his way. This guy is more worried about looking cool then catching the first down. There is actually a video going around that has all his drop balls from last year. I'm tired of watching him have a great game and then follow it up with 7 bad ones. It happened with Spurrier too. We can't even get a late round draft pick for this guy.

Personally, it wouldn't have to be Jerry Rice in the swap.
I'd take a couple cases of Rice-A-Roni, or even Condi Rice.
It's all good.

Under13,
Rod Gardner was labelled 50/50 by Bruce Smith in Rod's rookie season. It was because he dropped a crucial pass that lead to a loss (I can't remember which one) during that 0-5 start under Marty Schottenheimer. As great an athlete Bruce Smith was, I guess he was a cancer in the Redskins locker room. I don't put much weight on the 50/50 nickname.
In my opinion, Rod outperformed Coles last year.

Smith was in no way a cancer in the locker room. Thats is where he was most valuable to us.

Funniest thing ever. Maybe now that you've mentioned this we can get some original comments... not that I've never said any of those.
