It may or may not be true but anything Chris Mortenson says probably isn't.

That guy has made so many predictions and off the wall guesses that sooner or later, he is bound to be right.

I want Dennis Green and Ron Wolf as our GM.

Sportstalk 980 is reporting that HC Steve Spurrier has resigned and will leave the Redskins after two disappointing seasons! Reportedly, there is no buyout, and the Redskins will begin preparations of searching for a new Head Coach, in which front runners may be Jim Fassil, Dennis Green and Dick Jauron

I hope we get a disiplinarian. I dont think there are too many out there right now. That also means since Spurrier is leaving, Spurrier, Jr. will be gone. I also hope (along with an established Qb's coach, that we bring in a former WR who knows the position that the players would look up to. Oh man, we are in shambles!

sorry to double post..... i'm so happy i could do backflips....
now snyder dosen't look like so much of a bad guy, and maybe we'll have half a chance to find a decent coach.
i think what this team needs is a hard nosed coach like coughlin. could work wonders with this group of panzies......
damn, i may have to start drinking early today.......WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heard on ESPN radio that Fossel is #1 choice for the skins

thats fine too, although i'd rather have him as OC. he had the fireworks rolling in ny, maybe he could do the same here

The more I sit here and think about this Fassel is not a horrible choice as long as he brings with him a good DC. I listen to WFAN out of New York and he handle the New York Media with such class, he is a stand up guy. He know the NFC East and he has had some success as well. I still wish DS would go out and get a GM!!

I have heard confirmation of the Spurrier resignation here in Roanoke - they broke into the show my wife was listening to to break the news. He said it was for the best interests of the team....

I just wish he would have stayed and gotten NFL assistants that knew their posts. I just hope Dan doesn't hire Hue Jackson and then Hue turns around and keeps everyone.... shudder

it's front page at redskins.com, and there's already a link at nfl.com, so it's official....

Although a Spurrier fan early on, I am VERY FREAKIN' HAPPY he's tendered his "walking papers".

Now, hopefully, that will open the door for a G.M. and a hard-nosed coach.

This is one of the things I felt had to happen for the Skins to improve....and I'm glad the Spurrier era is over.

I think we have walked the same path on this one, Venting Hog. I have lived in Florida for years and have witnessed the other side of SOS...and I didn't like it. I thought that maybe he could bring some excitement to the team and was giving him the benefit of the doubt (and his record). But I think that all he has brought to the team is embarrasment and confusion. Better hope that Double O don't find you in the parking lot on the way out... :P

Halehluja! Freakin' awesome! What a great day in our history!

It didn't take seven freakin' years to run his butt off like Norv!

I'm so pleased!

We need a harda$$ coach to bring some discipline back to our proud beloved franchise!

Yippee!

We need a coach like Coughlin, that would slap the shiz-nit out of Danny if he was to bleed lip service.

Fassell isn't the greatest coach, BUT, he is a disciplinarian. I would applaud the choice because I know he would sign only under the same conditions as Parcells in Dallass!

the question is would he have the nerves to take this job on after NY? I mean the man looked like a wreck in our second game - I don't know if he is in shape to take this rebuild on.

would make ahelluva OC though...

Yeah New Torker demand alot from there team.

I do beleive we are next. Redskin caoching are some big shoes to fill. The history and legends are so rich here.

Rich, Fassel handled the New York media better then anyone since BP he is a stand up guy and no doubt will get and deserve a HC job in the NFL..the Skins could do a lot worst then Fassel. He makes no excuse for his team he will call the baby ugly in a New Youk or a D.C.min.

The only thing I question about Fassell is why did the team quit on him :?:

We did keep fighting til the end for EX-SOS

I am not questioning his talent or ability - just his nerves ::grin::

There was an awful grind on him this year, and while he handled it nicely, like Spurrier, he may decide not to stick it back in the grinder to have more lopped off for a while.
