Winslow Effect on Taylor

Wow I just read an article that said K2 is about to lose a ton of cash. He breached his contract which had specific language about motorcycles etc. Looks like he will be paying back about 4.1M for his march 1 bonus and he lost almost 6M from his leg injury. I really hope Sean Taylor takes a good look at Winslows unfortunate (medically) but comical loss of money for disregarding what he signed on the dotted line. Thats strike 2 for K2. If taylor doesnt see how fast you can lose what you have, he is crazy. Id be walking a more straight path if I were him. Not that I assume he is doing crazy stunts to get hurt, but thing is. He is making real nice money for being a number 5 pick and he could be forced to sit down if he doesnt make the mandatory camps. Heres hoping he enjoys his playing incentive money.

Are there any contract restrictions on alcohol consumption or DUIs? If not, Sean should be fine.

Last time I checked Sean was found not guilty on all charges in that case.

After seeing what this kid has done thus far in his NFL career, I'm glad JGibbs went with STaylor rather than KW2. Man, this is a great example of JGibb's knowledge of picking the right players.

It did not take a southsayer to tell that K2 was a major head-case and was bound to do something really stupid early in his career.
I wonder if he will blame the Poston's also for having the language in his contract about riding motorcycles?

Yea I agree but didn't it look like KW2 was more athletic than Taylor? I don't know...that's what I thought. Boy was I wrong!!!!!

If he has violated his contract, is that grounds for voiding it? If they ask him to return part of his money he will be unhappy and ask to be traded or released. You know where I am going now. If he can regain his health he still has off the charts tallent, maybe we could find a way to get him? Just thinking/wishing out loud.

I would rather see us go 0-16 than put any money toward that selfish baby. His father practically enshrined him in the hall of fame before he even played a down in NFL. I like Royal and

After missing his first year and now this injury, I don't think it would be worth it to get KW2 at all. We already havee
ey and Royal, as Micheal said, and we don't need another TE type of player. Plus, I'd rather not get involved with a guy who creates problems within the organization. We already have enough with Taylor, Moss, and Arrington. (I know they haven't done much to damage the team but they're certainly not helping it at the moment) They're clearly not as troublesome as KW2 is but I just don't think we need another "trouble-maker"

The Browns remain tight-lipped about the extent of the injuries suffered by tight end Kellen Winslow in Sunday's motorcycle accident, but sources indicate that at a minimum the sixth overall pick in the 2004 draft will take a hit to the bank account. NFL.com reports that Winslow's contract includes language specifically forbidding dangerous activities such as motorcycling, and that the Browns could go after the $4.4 million option bonus paid to Winslow on March 1 as well as a portion of his $6 million signing bonus. Winslow's questionable status for the 2005 season also puts in jeopardy the salary escalator clauses that inflate the value of his contract, as well as the base salary which Winslow would not be entitled to if he doesn't play this season. Reports indicate that Winslow is being treated for unspecified internal injuries and has swelling in his right knee and right shoulder. "The extent of these injuries will not be known until further medical evaluation is complete after the swelling is reduced," read a statement the Browns released to the media. The statement added that no timetable has been set for Winslow's release from the hospital.

Wow, I wonder what type of reaction is going to come out of Winslow. He's probably going to be pissed off that he's not going to recieve the money he was supposed to get. I predict the Browns trading this guy soon because he's going to create some problems over there.

He's going to be pissed because his game will NEVER be the same. I seriously doubt his health will ever reach 100% again (bike accidents can do that to you...), and frankly, I don't even know what other teams would want a guy like that. He's kinda like Kwame.

I heard that they originally had K2 in intensive care for swelling on the brain .....and then the doctors realized he has had a swelled head for years !!!

Published reports quoting Browns and NFL sources have indicated that the injuries suffered by tight end Kellen Winslow in a motorcycle accident are indeed serious and include a sprained ACL, a separated shoulder, broken ribs and a bruised lung. However, the Browns remain extremely guarded with information regarding Winslow, and a team source told Fanball.com Wednesday afternoon that the official report from the team remains unchanged: internal injuries, stable condition, with swelling in the right shoulder and right knee.

Obviously, given all the rumors circulating around the situation and the Browns' decision to remain tight-lipped on Winslow's status, it's difficult to discern what impact the accident will have on Winslow's 2005 season—if there even is one. Right now, however, it's not looking too good for Winslow.

skill wise yes. But what are u talking about, Sean Taylor has not been here for the offseason workouts, he got caught drunk even though the case was dropped... And i bet you a dollar that he is out partying in maimi for 23 hours and working out for 1 our a day.

At any rate, at least Sean CAN come to camp. K2 couldn't say the same thing.
I guess his "payback" on us will have to wait just a little longer.

Yeah, Sean isn't the best guy in the league but I don't think he can be compared to soldier over there.
