Washington, Noble Undergo Surgery
By Rich Campbell

May 14, 2004
Head coach Joe Gibbs updated the health status of linebacker Marcus Washington and defensive tackle Brandon Noble, saying both players will be out of action for the near future after undergoing medical procedures this week.
Gibbs said that Washington will undergo the same surgery he had last offseason to remove a benign growth in his tailbone area.
Although Washington's condition is not serious, he is expected to miss the next 5-6 weeks and his status for the team's mini-camp in June is uncertain.
The Pro Bowl linebacker had the same procedure performed last year approximately three weeks before signing with the Redskins as a free agent, Gibbs said.
"I think he's had it twice," Gibbs said. "It's something that comes back. I think it's more of a discomfort thing. We certainly don't want him going through the season with it."
Regarding Noble, Gibbs said that the defensive tackle recently developed swelling in his right knee--not the one he drastically injured during the 2003 preseason--and will have it scoped. He is expected to be at full health for mini-camp.

What the ... ?? Is he growing a tail ??
Sorry everyone ... that was my first thought as it does actually affect a small % of the population (elongated tailbone).
I don't like all these surgeries startign to pop up. Lets hope they are merely tune-ups so these guys can be ready to go in July.

Woof, Woof
It's a good thing he plays defense, if he was a running back he'd never break a long run!
Joking aside, I hope he gets well soon.
(maybe he'll have to wear a cone so he doesn't lick?)
Ok....no more...

I think i just urinated myself over those pictures. Please tell me that is digitally enhanced. Or Dehanced in this case. That is soo weird. A little shallow hal action going on with the Vistigian Tail! Sean Taylor will be looking forward when washington is in his linebacker stance and think he has it tucked all the way from the front to the back belt. haha

I am not too concerned about Washington because he had the same thing last year. Thereofore with the appropraite amount of time he will be 110% healthy.
As for Noble it sucks for him, now instead of one messed up food, he has 2 to worry about. Best of luck for him

OafusP...give me two of whatever you're drinking...
Does anybody have any idea why these surgeries always seem to pop up just in time to screw up minicamp ?

I googled human tail....and to my surprise it exists.
I'm starting to think that every person has some sort of deformity. Some are easily seen and others are easily hidden. I have webbed feet and a 64 ounce bladder. Who'd ever guess?

Hey Oaf, are those pics real? That's freaky man....I can't imagine MWashington with a monkey tail on him. Jeez...I didn't even know that this was something that existed.
Oh yeah...BTW....about your personal deformity about the bladder. Is that why you have a really fat Simpsons character as your avatar? Are you trying to express your deformity through your avatars?

Did Antonio Pierce have this condition as well? Would this explain his extra point episode?

LOL.
Isn't that cute.
I wouldn't be surprised if Washington has a pilonidal cyst.
Supposed to be very painful.
They are common enough (26/100,000) and can recur.
It really won't affect his playing at all, if that's what it is.
I'm sure he loves the world talking about his A though
