We still have holes to fill

Now we had a ok draft but we still have holes to fill that should have been filled at the Draft. First, we should have picked up a Offensive Lineman preferably a tackle or a guard for the team. Next, not bad for getting Cambell but we should have went after someone bigger like Hawaii's Timmy Chang or Oklahoma's Jason White. And I would have thought we should have at least one DE for our team to make that hopefully filled. But we have a great cornerback in Carlos Rogers. Now if we had Wide-out Taylor Stubblefield late in the rounds that would help us immensly and possibly Immedieataly. Joe Gibbs Did have a good draft, but to many holes to fill and question marks on our team to make it any better.

1- With Jansen coming back, Casey Rabach signed and our two developmental linemen coming along nicely where is the need on the offensive line?

2- You think Timmy Chang and Jason White (undrafted) over Jason Campbell would have been a smart move?

Is this a joke?

We had a very good draft considering the needs and placement of our picks.

Now kneel and pray to whatever God you worship that there is no t a single other injury in our OL this season.

Same goes for our DL with no pass rush from our DEs and no depth at it.

We have Lenny Friedman, Corey Raymer, Ray Brown, Jim Molinaro, Mark Wilson, etc. as backups, our OL is as solid as they come.

The DL has some depth with Warner and Evans coming back, but it could use some work. Hopefully Phillip Daniels will come back and play like the capable pass rusher that he is. Reynaldo Wynn had a very good season last year, I expect a good year from Daniels too...

This quote was in the Va. Pilot this morning:
"The Redskins didn’t choose a pass rusher, coach Joe Gibbs explained, because assistant Greg Blache was close to signing several free agents and was worried that additional competition would kill the deals."

With what money? Especially since it looks as if Gardner is staying!

I hope Gibbs picked for what he felt the team was lacking and not what the points per pick said. I was unsure as to whether I should be upset or happy after Sat. Yes we needed a CB it was not a bad pick, but I was confused about the QB even though it was reported almost a week in advance. Where we looking to possibly trade after the draft maybe send the new QB or Ramsey with Gardner to another team to fill a void? was it simply Gibbs tired of Ramsey drilling the ball down field and not using finess? I read here where everyone wants a WR but I sit back and think why? Mcants is awsome, Jacobs will be a monster, Thrash and Patton will pick apart offenses and if we can get Moss signed we will have a speedy WR, and Gardner. I know Gardner was expected to leave but I bet they keep him one more year in order to allow him to prove himself to the organization or fail. I know he has had his chances but with his size he could be a monster also. It would also help his own stock for next year if he wants to leave.$$$. I think he was made humble by very few teams being interested in him and now he's just hoping to play. Hopefully Gibbs and he can come to an understanding and work it out. Why no DE's I don't know unless Gibbs has his eyes on some people that he feels would not get drafted and will invited them to team practices. Now we have a threat hat RB threat at FB and a threat with Cooley. Plus WR this forces the other teams to either play the power run or the pass if we can get it to them and not have them drop it.

i agree with Skinsfan55

We had a decent draft... we drafted Defense with rogers... to maintain our dominant d...

and the QB pick makes sense... it might force Ramsey to play like Drew Brees did last year... or if he doesn't than we cut ties and start the young kid the year after next...

then what did gibbs draft... linebackers and fullbacks.... why??? to boost our special teams.... those are the types of players you need to have great special teams... and if arrington continues to be sour... we have a young linebacker...

i think this was a great draft...

DE would be a luxury but not a necessity.... Our secondary is going to be sick (if rogers is what they say he is)...

Regarding the lack of a DE being drafted, as I remember we had a huge hole at DE last year and we were the number three D in the country!

Getting Rogers really helps because if he can play good coverage that frees everyone else up to blitz and put pressure on the QB.

In addition, I feel like G Williams doesn't care that much about having a specialist pass-rushing DE unless he has a remarkable talent level. His attitude is that the primary responsability of a D lineman is to stop the run (which btw we did better than anyone last year) and not get out of position going for sacks. Last year our linemen surrounded and contained the pocket while other guys provided the pressure.

Basically, unless he sees a DE who can rush the passer AND play great run D or he finds a guy so talented that he can rack up double digit sacks every year he's not interested!

Time to deal

We desperately need a big WR, and a pass catching Te. A DE would be nice too. ARE there any rumors out there? Any trade possibilities? Any FA's. How about that Denver TE? Pray God we're not going to start the season like this!

With Raymer and Brown in the lineup last year our o-line was junk. Any injuries to our line or if Dockery underforms and we're in big trouble.
