I don`t like this but unfortunately I agree with him.
I just don`t beleibe what Gibbs said about signing Ramsey to a $40 million contract if he has a great season, then what was the purpose of drafting a QB in the first round.

the purpose was to push ramsey to greatness or oblivion....

and to give ourselves a great future QB.

what else would we have picked him for?

Ok Im tired of this controversy...If Ramsey is as good as we all believe, then he will have an amazing year next year. If he has an amazing year, then do you really think we will start campbell. Or do you think we will let go an amazing qb ? The chargers couldn't do it. Campbell is a good value pick who may even be traded for a draft pick next year with our lack of picks

This Ramsey is auditioning for a starting job. On another team, if he has a break out year he is going to tell Gibbs to get lost and leave the Redskins. The Redskins have completely set up Ramsey for failure each every year and he keeps fighting and always comes out on top. Gibbs just got rid of a fighter, a competitior, a winner. Getting this Campell guy will cost us a top ten pick and a core Redskin. Gibbs knows what a core Redskin is but he doesn't know who they are.

John Manfreda I agree with you, Gibbs hasn`t demonsrated REAL confidence in Ramsey, the message it`s very clear, Gibbs doesn`t beleive at all in him and that`s too bad, we all know that this will be Ramsey`s last year with the Redskins, no matter how well he does there will be an exuse for Gibbs no to put him the following year, instead of drafting Williams or a good receiver, or Miller and saying to Ramsey, ''Here you go, we got new and very good weapons so you can develop as a great QB'', well that didn`t happened, last Wednesday Gibbs said the redskins were going to do their best to bring more good offensive players to help the offense, so far that`s a lie, we`ll have to wait what happens after June 1st.

Look this is his contract year....He held out during his first contract for more money. We have no cap room next year. So either he completely bombs in which case we don't want him...or He goes to the Pro-Bowl and we can't afford him. How can you be so short sighted!?

Although we have a lot of money tied up in QBs at the moment, we could lose Ramsey at the end of next season regardless of how he performs.
With Brunell poor last season I can't see him getting better at this stage of his carear. Is Hasselback a genuine NFL starting QB, probably not. We needed to draft a QB this season so we dont have to start a rookie next season.
It is a necessary pick as in 12 months time the QB situation may have imploded.

Ramsey will have an excellent year. We will pay Ramsey a lot of money next year and he will stay. He will stay because he will have earned his job here and he will be on a team very close to winning a superbowl. Not to mention the fact that nobody will want to give us two 1st round picks for him most likely...
