i have been racking my brain trying to figure out why we would trade away the few picks we have to move up in the draft. it may be as simple as economics. we are all aware that we have treated the salary cap like it doesn't exist. so maybe just maybe knowing we dont have alot of money Joe and the boys figure to get the player that can impact our team the most and forego any future cap numbers by not drafting multiple players. i don't necessarily agree with it, but if that is the logic it is understandable. what i don't understand is why Braylon Edwards is that guy for us. i live in michigan and i have seen first hand how inconsistant he can be. he benifited from the big ten's inexperience at corner this past year..O-State, Michigan-State, Penn-State and Wisconsin all had youth and inexperience at corner this past year and Braylon benefited from that. i would rather see us take Williams or Campbell if we are hell bent on trading up..and before everyone gets thair panties in a bunch remember...RAMSY has a pinchiot for throwing picks and although he is tough with a strong arm he is not a team leader that the team rally's around. Campbell would give us athleticism and an uncanny accurate arm...Williams is just a freak of nature with hands the size of baseball gloves...that being said i would rather draft a corner with #9 and get a reciever at #25....just my take!

I agree. I was already disappointed that they traded so many picks for #25. I think the Redskins will only make things worse if they combine both round one picks to move up to draft ANY one player. They have the chance to possibly pick up a quality player for both the offense and the defense if they stay were they are. If we want an inconsistent receiver, why not just hold on to Gardner.

Well, I remember last year Taylor was the big name and it looked like the Skins were hot for him. Then as the weeks progressed you kept hearing Winslow's name creeping in there. The Skins, of course went with Taylor after all. I wouldn't be surprised if the Skins similarly are still hot for Williams and the whole Edwards thing is a ploy.

Again, myself, I'd prefer to probably see the Skins trade down some (particulary with the #9 pick but only under the right circumstances), but maybe this is impossible given their salary problems. And my suspicion is that they may actually be targeting Miller by trading up....or perhaps even Jones.

Who knows, soon Santa will come...and then we will all have to wait 4 months to play with our toys.

My 2 cents

I like us trading down. Mark Maske has a mock draft where we take Mike Williams with the 12th overall pick by trading with I believe the bears? or something like that. But taht would be amazing, i dont' know how feasible, but amazing. But I would like to get carlos rodgers on our team. he would be a great cornerstone (haha get it?) for our team, somethign we could really build off of. Heath miller would be great too, but we can't take all three in the first round now can we?

If they really want to set the franchise up for sucess over the lnkg haul they will use the 2 #1's to move down in this and future drafts. Wer need MORE picks not fewer.

The fewer the picks the smaller your margin for error. Plus- if we are worried about cap stuff loading up on multiple late round picks is a cheap way to fill out the roster.

If they move up they basically are banking everything on this one guy.

Look at it from an investement philosophy. You NEVER put all your eggs in one basket. You spread it around to spread out the risk incase one of your investments does not work out the way you thaught it would.
