Predicting the draft grades

Regardless of who the Redskins draft, regardless of whether they somehow had the best draft in history, the "experts" at ESPN will say the following:

<insert name here> was a solid if unspectacular pick whose choice fails to address a need/creates a position battle/was simply too costly given what the Redskins gave up to get him ... the Redskins passed on <insert names here> who, while not the flashy pick Dan Snyder seems drawn to would have been a much better fit/addressed a need/a better character guy ... in summation, the Redskins deserve a C-/D+ ... what's that? ... how many of us have been NFL GMs?... um none, why?

This is about the time when the Post will send some poor intern to the casket where Sally Jenkins sleeps (she avoids the light at all costs, something we can all be thankful for) to wake her so she can write yet another piece on why signing Neon was a mistake and then go back to eating small children.
That, in turn, will make Pastabelly very hungry.

Dude, you killed your own thread by starting with a classic post. No one can top that, although I'm sure some one will try.

It looks to me like the Skins are set up to be graded low, since they traded their way into 2 first round picks in a draft that most experts are calling thin at best.

The year that the Ravens picked up Suggs and Boller, most analysts were going crazy with Billick loving (a different topic for another thread). They called the move to get Boller genius in a draft where ESPN (and every other analyst) gave the Ravens an A. But that's because the 2003 draft had more talent than we see in this draft, and so getting in two picks early makes more sense.

I see us getting a B- or C+ at best, since we're still feeling the effects of trading away draft picks from last year and just won't have many picks. In fact, I see the Skins receiving low grades and the Broncos getting high marks for 'tricking' Washington into a deal that gave them a bunch of latter-round picks and next year's 1st rounder.

[I think that in actuality we'll have a B draft or better.]

I'm not saying we will get him, but Jason Campbell will be a better pro than Kyle Boller ever will. Billick is nowhere near the genius he is made out to be.

See Fios! Some did take it seriously. This is like Halloween in April and all the crazies are out there with their predictions.

So that being said why not join in? - C if we're "lucky" but more likely a D - (C for Cerrato and D for Danny!)

And JansenFan - count me in on the NO to anything about "fatboy"
