Arrington, and both first rounders to the 49ers

I hope I don't get blasted for this post, but a friend of mine heard Arrington and both first round picks to the 49ers for the number one pick in the draft. I'm waiting for him to get home so he can email the link so I can post it. Has anyone else heard this or care to discuss? I would think it could'nt go through due to Arrington being injured at this time.

Bogus. Arrington CANNOT be traded this season due to salary cap implications.

Use our SEARCH tool and look up "Arrington AND Salary AND Cap" and you will see it is impossible to trade Arrington.

That trade would not work at all. Don't believe everything you hear.

Why would we give up that much when it has benn said that we might be able to get to #2 by giving up only our 2 first rounders.

I know we wont trade up to the first 3 picks.

The signing bonus for a top 3 pick is huge.
And then if we trade anyone else, we would take a cap hit because we always give our guys huge signing bonus'.

It seems that all these reporters are pullin Len Pasquerellys, by just saying something that sound interesting.

If they actually do research, they see we cant afford the #2 player.

That's a load of crap. But what makes no sense at all is: why would we want the 1st overall pick? We're not interested in ASmith are we? There's no way the Niners are going to take BEdwards with their 1st overall. If we were to trade up, it'd be #2 or #3 at most.
I'm waiting for that link, by the way. :)

no way were tradin away arrington, the draft has so much depth, we dont have to trade everythin to get 1 player, even if we do, we cant predict he's goin to be amazin and take the skins to promise land, if the trade do happen we're riskin toooooo much for very little...

lol, the bull just keeps getting deeper and deeper...

why didn't you call your friend on his bull? Arrington is not tradeable, and anyone who knows a lick about NFL football and the cap could tell you that.

We CANNOT trade him no matter how badly we wanted to. $35,672,000. That's how much trading him would add to our cap. We'd have to cut half the team to get back under the cap and we wouldn't be able to sign any draft picks.

Barring that little fact, why would we trade arrington and 4 picks to get to #1 so we could take a WR? Great college WR's notoriously fail in the NFL. The odds of a WR making it in the NFL are probably worse than any other position aside from QB.

I'm so tired of all this BS flying around here. At least make them fricking believeable people!!!!

People says we can’t cut or trade Lavar Arrington because of his contract (it seems everyday this has to be pointed out in one thread or another)
I also believe that Lavar is not movable this year, but everyday someone is posting how we need to get rid of LA ……

Today I say TRADE him ……. I’m posting a plan that WON”T cost us a cap hit but it will take some wheeling and dealing our part. With my plan the Redskins will save about $400,000.00 in cap space this year.

Here’s the plan….
The Skins send both 1st round picks and Lavar to the 49ers for their No. 1, then we’ll package that pick along with Jim Molinaro, Mark Wilson and Ladell Betts to Miami for their top pick, which we turn around and GIVE this pick to the Browns because they wasted their #1 last year.

Next “the Danny” will write a short heartfelt letter to a few of the owners apologizing for raiding their rosters, these letters will be hand delivered by the following players that will be returning to their previous rosters as per the letter. The Mailmen will be Mike Barrow, James Thrash, Tom Tupa, Cory Raymer, John Hall, and Matt Bowen

Now I know this seem like a lot, If the he’s got to go he’s got to go. Right?
This part of the plan will must be completed before Friday night because early Saturday before noon we have to find a team or 2 willing to take the rest of our 2005 draft picks for FREE

Then at 10:30 AM on draft day “Redskin 1” will land in the parking lot at the site of the NFL draft and hold the first ever NFL draft lottery. At this time for $1.75 “the Danny” will raffle off the following players contracts….
Derrick Dockery , Lennie Friedman ,Rod Gardner, Ron Warner, Robert Royal, Santana Moss, Andre Lott, Cedric Killings, Tim Hasselbeck, Demetric Evans, Ryan Clark, Khary Campbell, Rock Cartwright, Ray Brown, Garnell Wilds, ,Josh Warner, Clifton Smith, Chris Clemons, Nathan Black, Ryan Boschetti, Brandon Barnes, Antonio Brown, Dan Goodspeed, Jabari Holloway, Gari Scott and John Simon

At 11:45 it is announced that “for the next 6 minute players contracts will be flat out given away” (no $1.75 cost ….Free)

That give’s “the Danny” about 9 mins. To convince the other 31 owners to reduce their roster to 45 players for at least the 2005 season.

So if Lavar isn’t traded it has nothing to do with the Cap (“the Danny” and skated that thing forever, and know Joe is here to pull him back from the edge).

No if Lavar stays it’s because the “the Danny” couldn’t get ALL of the owners to agree cut about 1000 jobs league wide.

Moving 30 players with nothing for us when we are talking about Mr. Redskin

lol, I know. It's sad isn't it? Well most of it will die down after saturday. I'm sure we'll still see a few threads about trading or cutting Lavar before the season starts, but at least it'll only be a few...

Doesn't matter how many times or how articulately or how simply you put it. Some people just don't get it, or just completely ignore what your saying and post the same thing over and over.

Well, why don't we trade Lavar for two #1's?
We can't, his cap hit is too big.
Ok, then let's package Lavar and Gardner and get 2 #1's this year and next year's #1 from somebody.
We can't take the cap hit. I told you that.
Yeah, but we have to trade him cause his cap hit is too big.
We can't!!! If we trade him we have to multiply his cap hit by 7 and that all goes on this years cap.
Screw it, I say we just cut him then. Might as well cut Brunell too. He sucks.....

No way Arrington gets traded this year or next. He is a TRUE redskin and has always maintained his desire to end his career here. I think we should stay put or trade down, not up. No one in this draft is worth two first rounders

Why am I even responding to this? Well, because MY friend told me that Indy was trading us Peyton Manning and Edge for our 2 first rounders, Ramsey and Arrington. But you know what? My friend is a dumb ass and so is yours. If that link your friend is talking about ever shows up, I promise right here and now that I'll run naked down Fed Ex field on Saturday.

Did anyone else hear this rumor?

The Redskins have reportedly agreed to a landmark deal that would send the entire Redskins roster to the New England Patriots for the entire Patriots' roster. In addition to this blockbuster trade, the Redskins will recieve overall picks #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 in the following 10 drafts.

I know it sounds a little crazy, but a number of sources have indicated that there is a lot of truth to this deal. I think it might be tough on our CAP situation, but we could probably work it out.

At least that's what Pasquarelli said... :thump:
