Why do they have to explain themselves?

I would have no problem if Gibbs said it is nobody's business.

Gibbs is upset b/c of conficting statements that the press are making and giving wrong information. They asked Vinny if they were trading the #9 for Buchannan and asked Gibbs if they would trade #9 for anyone. Gibbs said yes. Then that was how it supposedly leaked out but they were two diffrent questions and he's upset about the press screwing up stories.

SHUT UP DANNY!

Dan Snyder should NOT be speaking during a football-related conversation. If the press wants to talk promotions or seating or anything like that, fine. But shut up when it comes to football and the draft. Stop talking. You are a terrible image for this franchise.

You're right about Snyder answering football questions.
It sounds strange.

Uhhh....aside from being the owner, doesn't Snyder "work the numbers"on the contracts for the players drafted? While Joe has final say, Snyder is definitely involved in the process, though not as much as in the past.

I don't even think Snyder and Gibbs should be allowed at the same press conferences, unless Danny is introducing Joe. Don't you think people would think it was weird if Gibbs started answering questions about the new luxury suites at FedEx? It's just as weird for Snyder to be answering questions about player or any on-field operations.

That has probably been the biggest albatross hanging around the neck of the Washington Redskins franchise since Snyder took over: his tinkering with player issues and on-field operations.

Makes me so angry.

Someone just asked Vinny if he thought this was a deep draft in terms of cornerback.
Is it me or does Vinny Cerrato just sound uncomfortable up there?

He should probably keep his hands off that too. Take a look at our cap situation for this year and the coming years. Two words: Not good.

I have to agree with Redeemed, it is Mr. Snyder's team.

I'm actually OK with the owner wanting to have input with regard to contract language.
His field of expertise is business. (The salary cap looks bad, but we have yet to reach the cap hell the titans went thru this year.)
But football matters,he should just sit back.

does anybody know what was said at the news conference? what'd they say about this Jason Campbell thing?

The Patriots are Bob Kraft's team. He's a successful businessman. I live in Boston, you NEVER see him getting involved.

I'm sure Snyder is good at contract stuff but shouldn't he be leaving that to salary cap experts and those who can really assess the value of the player. Why doesn't he just set a budget for player acquisition and leave it to those who really know from there?

They left it really open-ended but Gibbs did say Ramsey is the starter going into training camp.

He said Ramsey is the starter without a doubt. They arn't going to go after Campbell. It doesnt make any sense whatsoever.

Did anyone else think that these guys look and act like the Three Amigos in the face on the media?

Gibbs - Steve Martin
Vinny - Chevy Chase
Danny - Martin Short

It is sad the media makes a circus out of what many on this site will call "Brilliant" come Monday.

"DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMIN' OUTTA MY MOUTH?!" Where's Chris Tucker when ya need him...

Did we gain any information from this News Conference? It sounds to me like they just repeated everything we already know.

They're not going to disclose squat right before the draft.

the titans at least made it to a superbowl and made the playoffs... we are going to be in salary cap hell and nothing to show for it....

truly scary....

So far we've did OK with the cap, since "We are going to be in Salary Cap Hell" has been the offseason perdiction from the day "the Danny" paid for the Redskins. The only difference now is people have taken the 2 year timeframe out of the perdiction. This is because they can see Gibbs reversing that trend as we speak.

Like the reason we made the trade for the 25th pick is to select Jason Campbell. No matter the source when I read that on the Tues. before the draft, that's 1 player that won't be picked at #25 by Washington........They ain't going to let out any info on what they are doing until it's done.
