The guy at FutureOfTheNFL.com has us taking WR Troy Williamson in the 1st round, and CB Darrant Williams in the 3rd round. How do you guys feel about these two players.

I'd be upset if we got Williamson at number 9 despite the fact he is a good player, and I really think we should pass on Darrent Williams (too small, not physical enough)

We should trade down with hte ravens they may be looking to trade down if clayton is taken by the 22nd pick...then we could take williams if hes there or matt jones, our first roudner needs to be a wr becasue there is good 2nd and 3rd roudn talent in the draft for corner( fabian washington 4.25 speed, eric green, marlin jackson, justin miller) remember we need a replacement for smoot who was a 2nd corne...why use the number 9 pick on a corner when we need a true # 1 reciever, people panicked when we lost arrington but someone stepped in and our defense was 3rd, we need to stop worrying about D and draft on offense where we ranked 30th

I'm not familiar with either of these players - But it makes sense to me. As I wrote before, why fork over ten million a year (after four or however many seasons) for an elite CB when merely a good one would probably suffice.

9. Washington Redskins: Troy Williamson, WR, South Carolina
Since Coles wanted out they ended up with a slightly less talented reciever in Santa Moss and with Rod Gardner also on his way out the Redskins have to go wr and give Ramsey all the weapons he can get. Troy Williamson is one of the fastest players in the draft so hes always a deep threat and has pretty good size(6-1 203).Another place they could go is at cornerback since they lost Fred Smoot, and rumors are Lavar Arrington might not be there much longer either so they could look at a guy like Derrick Johnson from Texas.
If Edwards and M.Williams are both gone by #9 then I think the WR position will be addressed latter in the draft at the earliest I think we would trade down for more picks and take a shot at Williamson later in the round or maybe Carlos Rodgers

Williamson is a guy who can be a #1 reciever in the NFL, very polished, very fast and good hands... put him in a Joe Gibbs offense and BAM!
Why take a different guy because the "scouts" like him more? Williamson COULD be the best WR in the draft depending on how he's used.

I've liked Williamson all along. I'd rather try to trade down, because I think that he will still be there around 15, and if not there are plenty of other guys available that could help out our team.
The three positions that we need to address, in order of importance are CB, DE, and WR. There are plenty of guys that could help us in the bottom of round 1. Now, if we could just find a trade partner. CB is our biggest need because we simply don't have enough bodies at the CB position. If we don't draft one, and we will, then we will have to get one of of the July and July scrap heap. Then DE because we don't have any real pass rushers on the line. And with our secondary needing help this year we aren't going to able to put our DB's on an island with guys and rush 7 men. As far as WR, sure we could use a legit number one, and if M. Williams slided to us then I would take him, but we have a great deal of young depth at that position. Any one of those guys could have a monster year if they were just given the chance. At CB and DE we are lacking both depth and quality starters. Make no mistake, despite the #3 ranking our defense is far less stable than our offense.
Having said all this, I want to also say..............
.........This is one of the most stupid mock drafts that I have read. How do these people get jobs doing this? Aaron Rogers slips to #14, but Alex Smith goes at #3? Rumors have it that Lavar is leaving? How is that going to possibly happen?
Idiots!

To me this would be a horrible draft, and I would be upset if this was to go down.

I second that! I'll be getting hammered on draft day if we end up drafting the way that guy says we will.

I'd rather have Troy Williamson instead of drafting a CB. In my Sporting News draft magazine, they compare Williamson to Chad Johnson. I wouldn't mind having a Chad Johnson type player on the Skins, as long as he doesn't send opposing CBs some pepto

. However, when we play Denver, I wouldn't be against sending Chump some TUMS or Rolaids.
