I am trying to stay positive but with the tough schedule the Skins have and the spotty offseason.... I see 7-9 if we are lucky.
Finishing with 3 straight division games? Cowboys, Giants and then at Philly....That is Brutal! Especially since we have won only 2 division games in 2 years.
As for the Draft - as much as loosing Smoot hurt, I think the Skins have to draft offense - I would love to see a big playmaker reciever in our line-up to be a go to guy for Ramsey. Not sure if there are any in the receivers that will be available but it would be nice.
Maybe Patten or Moss will be the missing links but then I thought Gardner was a great pick and Coles was the answer.
I will try to keep positive and Trust in the Wisdom of Joe.
Go Skins and prove me wrong in 2005!

I know the offseason hasn't been the merry-go-round we usually have but let's look at who we will have next year that we didn't have this year and who we lost:
Gained:
Offense: Raybach, Jansen, Patten, Moss, and a half Ramsey
Defense:Arrington, Bowen, Daniels, Barrows
Plus a first round draft pick
Lost:
Offense: Coles, Gardner (?)
Defense: Smoot, Pierce.
I'd say that puts us in the plus column for the off-season. I think the changes along the offensive line are worth 2 extra wins in the themselves. And having Ramsey play a full season is worth a couple as well.
I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but I think the Skins are well-poised for a run at the playoffs.

I feel pretty good about this schedule - the only thing I don't like is the early bye week. Think about it - we control our destiny - what else can you ask for as a football fan?

He's right, i think it's in our own hands. I think with hard work we can beat any team out there.

The bye week is a joke, the schedule seems to me to set the Skins up for a 9-7 season.

I'm thinking that 9-7 or 10-6 will be the playoffs. There are no really good teams (especially in the NFC!) and there will be some upsets.
I am hoping that the D will be helped by an O that uses some clock AND will score some points. I would be surprised if Bugel doesn't get a lot more out of the line this year and we know that Joe will be a lot more innovative after last year's showing.
I do not see a huge letdown on defence - people will step up and Greg has a proven system. We should see even more aggressive game planning with both Lavar & Sean in there and we did not have a healthy Bowen for many games.
We are not good yet but we are improving and Joe will have a team that will be "in" every game.
This offseason is taking forever!

The truth is, if we start strong and end strong, we could end up 4-2 in our division, at least 8-8 if not better.
Pray for no injuries and I think the key is starting strong with wins in the first two to get the monkey off of our back, and ending with some division wins to justify a berth in the playoffs.

9-7 might make the playoffs, but not if wins dont come from in our division

Are you kidding?
This schedule is cake. It could be SO much harder. You could slap the Colts,Jags, and Steelers on there and it would be all hell breaking loose in Washington.
The Schedule is relativly simple. Seahawks and Cards are not very difficult games. The bye week is a bit early, but the only teams to watch out for are the Raiders,Chargers and the Eagles, other than that, if we're really as improved as we think we are, we should sweep and clean these other teams like a Swiffer.

I would say that Denver and KC match up better against us than Oakland, just my opinion.
Getting the Bears and Cowboys first two games is a treat. Our turnover is lower than those two teams and we should be better in weeks 1-2 against them.
Also, finishing off the year proving your way into the playoffs with 2 of 3 division games at home cannot be any better. Eagles on the final week - WHAT A GIFT! They should win the NFC East again, and if they do, that may be a free division win. We just need to have our team in position to make a run come December.

The Schedule isn't all that bad. We must win our home games and go .500 on the road. This is the plan to make it to the playoffs.

I hate Monday night Redskins games....we are cursed. Plus we really don't deserve one due to our record and why does it have to be against Dallas?
