Pac-Man wants to be a Redskin!?

From a Washington Post article today:
Jones grew up idolizing former Redskins great Darrell Green and has a strong relationship with cornerback coach Dwayne Walker, according to his agent, Gary Wichard. Upon completing his visit to Redskins Park on Friday, Jones called Wichard and, according to the agent, told him, "I want to be a Redskin."

Well, you hear this kind of thing a lot (Kellen Winslow) but in this case I believe it. Who wouldn't want to be a CB in G Williams D playing opposite Springs and with Taylor covering your back? Pac-Man plays much bigger than he is and at least Springs is big so Jones will not always have to cover the big recievers.
A lot of people on this board seem down on Jones but I think he'll be a good player. Many say he's too small but people said that about Darrell Green too and he wasn't too bad. It would be fun to watch a guy like Jones try to follow in those footsteps. I like Pac-Man even if he did have a lousy wonderlic test and I like him even more if he wants to be a 'Skin.
I'm still not sure who we should go for in the draft but I thought this was some good food for thought. I never knew about Pac-Man's ties to the Redskins until I read this article.

It would be good to get some guys in here that actually want to play for the Redskins. Im not a Pac Man fan, but if he is truthful, I would not be against to drafting him.

I'd take him over Rolle....just due to the fact that I don't want another problem player from Miami to join forces with Taylor, holding out of voluntary practices and for more money.
We may not have any choice, however, as Jones may be gone before Rolle, due to his returning capabilities.

Jones doesn't have to be big to be effective. Smoot did a hell of a job and was a buck 90 soaking wet. Jones just has to keep runnin his 4.2 and he'll cover any number 2 WR in the league. We can leave the big WR's like Owens and Williams to Springs.

It's good that he wants to be a Redskin, but I don't think the Redskins are interested in him because of his off-the-field problems. He's supposedly a drinker and a trouble maker. (Well, that's what I heard anyway...)
Only if ARolle had the same dream of being like Darrel Green!

I think this is just a little pre-draft posturing on his agent's part.
You see all the time where a player picks a teams at the top of his slotting and professes a devotion to them.
Did you expect him to say "boy I really want to be a Giant and hope I'm not picked until the second round"?

Who cares? We don't have enough offense to win in the NFL. Do we have to suffer another season of one and two touchdowns a game before we wake up and decide to do something major about our offense. Getting Jansen and Casey is just not enough- Patten and Moss may even be a slight minus over what we had. The time to panic over not having a great TE and WR is now!
Panic! I say! WR! TE! WR! TE! Wake UP to reality! WE can't score with the present crew!

If we can't get Williams, draft Williamson and Henry, Gibson...Get Miller, Matt Jones...that FA from Denver...trade when necessary...finagle...trade up, trade down, trade Moss, trade futures...do the necessary...get a great WR and a great TE in the line up with

ey and another fine WR.

As opposed to someone from the University of Miami?

We have a few needs, WR and TE being two of them but i don't think we should base everything around those two needs. Lighten up man.

Pac Man would fit perfectly with springs and taylor. He will cover the weaker reciever until springs begins to age in a year or two and then Pac Man will have the experience to go along with his 4.2 speed. I mean 4.2 c'mon cant pass that kind of speed up.

If we can get pac man and we dont we suck ne other player is a reach he would be a steal at 9 he runs a 4.2 and hes called pac man for a reason he can tackle (better then smoot). hes a hawk for the ball and our D would be solid. and i think the saying goes DEFENCE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS dont forgert our Oline is healty and portis is backfield we only need reciers to run 5yrd roots i know its optimistic but common who would u draft at 9 no TE are worth and and WR is a reach beside williams
