Restaurant Explodes After Cockroach Control Snafu

PERTH, Australia -- An Australian restaurant owner's attempt to get rid of cockroaches in his kitchen has left his eatery in ruins.

The owner set off 36 fumigation devices. However, he apparently forgot to extinguish an oven pilot flame.

Fire officials said the ensuing explosion lifted the roof off of the Thai restaurant, blew out the back wall as well as the front window and caused the ceilings to cave in. Three men were hospitalized with burns.

One fire official said of the owner, "He's just overdone it."

Man if they can't handle those roaches, how the heck do they handle those kangaroos....

If anyone's ever seen "Mythbusters" on the Discovery Channel, they demonstrated that this is actually easily done and has happened on more than one occasion.

Yeah, that was the one where they sprayed coackroach death dpray in the toilet and then dropped in a lit cigarrette, right?

They had to use gasoline for that one to actually work. The spray alone wouldn't ignite.
