Blocking TE

Who is the best blocking TE available this draft? We all know Miller is the best TE but Gibbs said there is definitely a spot on the team for a blocking TE, however they are near to impossible to find(too bad we didn't get Kliensasser last year). Thinking back to last year's draft, we got

ey in later rounds as a blocker/reciever H-back and it turned into a great pick. I like USC's Alex Holmes 6'3" 275 lbs. 4.75 personally. He loves blocking and he has the speed to get out in front. There are a few other big blocking TE's to be had in later rounds too. I sure wish I could see Gibbs' draft list...

I liked Anthony Becht, FA from New Jersey. he is 6'7 275, but Tampa Bay signed him.
In the Draft...Kevin Everet, TE Miami is a beast both blocking and catching, only has 1 year of experience though.
Kelley Griffeth From Fort Mays St. ( i know..where is that?) But seriously, he is a beast blocking at 6'5 284. Blesto gave him a decent grade.

Have any of you seen the OTHER TE from Virginia?
Patrick Estes is 6-7 280lbs. I'm a Terps fan and didn't see any Cavaliers games up here in Jersey.

Im a Virginia guy...sorry to hear you like the Terps,

just kidding but yeah...Estes decent TE...he'll probably get a free agent shot somewhere, he has good size, and blocking ability, but not dominant or anything.
One of my cousin's clients is your boy Lamont Jordan...he diced us up for 300 yards one game.

I think Victor Sesay from Missouri blocks well...He might
be a good late round choice.

Hm... I have a big idea. Anyone heard of Jason Peters? He came up as a UDFAs and floated around for awhile. Back in colege, he was just an extra OT next to Shawn Andrews and Bo Lacy who, by chance, had good speed and could catch.
Nothing is funner than watching him getting tackled by a DB.

I like the guy from USC also. I think the Skins should try and get him.

And my Terps still lost.

Gibbs will find someone. He will surprise us like he did last year with a gem later in the rounds. It'll be good to get a good blocking TE who can catch a pass occasionally to change up the pace.
They'll be looking for him to block and we'll throw him a pass. When he sucks up a defender because they're scared he'll do it again, we'll run it down their throats!

As a former blocking TE, I have to tell you: Do not take a blocking TE. Take a TE who can run pass routes and catch the ball and has the size and strength to block. Blocking can be taught. Soft hands and speed cannot be taught. Further, a TE's blocking assignments are not as difficult as the blocking assignments of an interior lineman and often involve doubling down on a DE, which is easy, or taking out linebackers, who are small and can also be taken out by TE's who are primarily receivers.
Even though I always wanted to be sent into games, I usually regarded my insertion into games as a mistake unless it was in a short yardard situation. I do not recall ever making a material difference in a game, though I frequently went through whole games without my man making a tackle. My counterparts, receiving TE's, won many games for teams for which I played.
If I were a coach I would't ever consider taking up a roster spot with a blocking TE.

He was an above average safety valves in the passing game. Blocking wise, I already told you he was just an extra OT.
