Again I think Michael Westbrook pulling his helmet off , screaming at refs giving us a 15 yd penalty to lose the game might rank high,,ofcourse Gus the head rammer will be tough to beat?

1. Gus head-buts the wall
2. Westbrook (trying to forget that name, too) imitates Andre Reed by slamming his helmet on the turf.
3. Nothing that I remember comes close to those...
<pausing to think back to 1959...no, a lot of memorably bad plays, but these two are different.>

I posted mine the the Gus Frerotte "Lounge" thread.
I think it was Brian Mitchell, taking a knee at the three on a punt "return".

yeah, us crazy old people actually relying on english (or a language at all for that matter) to communicate.
each generation seems to abbreviate more and more... i wonder if 200 years from now there will just be one single symbol that means everything.

Hmmm, bonehead i'd say Gus .
Worst play has to go to the field goal when we played Tampa back in 98 i wanna say. We beat detroit in the first game of the playoff then played the Mighty Bucs and were down by one and went for the field goal. I can't remember what happened, it either got blocked or the snap got botched but that had us in the championship game.
I do remember the brian mitchell kneel at the three (although i might be thinking of a time during a kickoff when he kneeled it at the one thinking he was in the endzone)
Either way we've had too many the past decade

Maybe...Brad Johnson throwing the damn ball away, to stop us from going to the playoffs!? If that's right, I have to lay off the booze

However, I don't recall that play, so it's probably a wrong interpertation. If it isn't I really need to lay of the booze!

MW and the helmet as well as Gus playing butthead are right up there for me.
Dan Turk's missed snap in the 1999 playoff game against the TB Bucs. As I recall it was in the remaining seconds of the game and it would have tied us up and sent it into overtime.
Hard to be too critical of Dan though - the poor guy was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer within months of that play and died within a year.

I came up with just about the same thing..
I figured Brad Johnson throwing and away to stop us from going to the playoffs
Couldn't figure out what it meant but I wasn't drinking yesterday (and figured I needed to be drunk) I was going to give it another shot later to day(after a little prep

Redskins up by 5 with 1 minute to go. Staubach knocked out of the game. Clint Longly comes in as Dallas QB, drops back to pass, and heaves it long to a sprinting Drew Pearson for a TD. Redskins secondary allowed Pearson to get way beyond them in boneheaded coverage.

Not a play, but how about signing Mark Brunell AND starting him over Ramsey! grrr That led to plenty of bad plays

Rocket Ismail burning the skins in overtime in 2000 (I think, second game of the season). That was the biggest bonehead play I've seen by the defense. Troy Aikmen pump faked the whole defense into going to the right, while Ismail came out the right side to score on the Cowboys first play from scrimmage in OT. Watching that was like getting kicked in the nutts. We were up by more than 20 I think. ughhhhh.

How about -- giving Steve S. $10 million dollars to "coach them up" for 2 years...

How bout we change this to the bonehead moves by an owner.
Picking up Deion on a long term contract then having him retire after a pitfull season with the skins, and then having to watch him gloat about it on CBS.

It was a muffed snap. But, it was a long field goal, like a 52 yarder anyway, and our kicker(can't remember who it was) didn't have that strong a leg. He probably wouldn't have made it, but it sure pissed me off that he didn't get the chance. We were kicking their butts, and then out of nowhere King gets two quick TDs to take a 14-13 lead which ended up being the final score I believe.
Most boneheaded HAS to be Gus headbutting the wall. Gave himself a concussion. I've laughed over that one many many times.
Westbrook penalty was up there too. I thought him beating up Davis was pretty boneheaded too. Especially since he attacked him from behind. What a chump that guy was lol...

Sooner or later, newbies are going to be required to read the "Welcome and Site News" sticky before they're allowed to proceed.
"No photos in the sig line" is a biggie.
Also, I'm pretty shocked that Welch hasn't been by with a Garo Yepremian reference yet...but I'm sure he will be.
He wasn't a Redskin...but his boneheaded play in '72 almost put us in the record books for all time.
