Who are your top picks from the pool of unsigned UFA's ?
Oh, wait. I should have my own list, right ? Here's some names. I'm not wild about many of 'em, but it's a list for the sake of listing.

Tai Streets
Curtis Conway (I smell another Ellard here. I don't know why)
David Terrell
Corey Bradford
Jason Gildon (on the decline, but still...)
Luther Ellis (see above)
Tom Nutten (depth)

Here's a link to help you pick and choose. You can also access the AFC guys from that page.

Courtney Brown probably doesn't count because he's, well we don't want to jinx that so....you get my drift.

I'd take Jason Gildon, he's on the decline but he's still a beast!

TE:
Bubba Franks - I don't think we have the cash for this guy but he'd boost the running game a ton and has solid hands.
Chad Lewis - might get this guy for a reasonable price and he seems to be a well round TE. Solid in the clutch on 3rd down or when the games on the line. A plus would be that we could take away some of Philly's depth.

MLB:
Ed Hartwell - Again don't think we have the cash, but he's solid and would be great in the middle.
Ronald McKinnon - I think we could sign this guy cheap. He's had some good season with the Cards and could turn things around under GW, but he too is on the down side of his career.

I'd like to have Ed Hartwell in the middle. MLB is the only position on this team where Im not sure if our reserves can adequately fill the position, and Mike Barrow is a huge question mark.

Yeah Gildon's still got it.

Even thought he's on the decline, if we could get him for a cheap price and convert him to Middle...

it'd be over.

Bubba Franks would fit our TE need perfectly
Ed Hartwell would be a upgrade at MLB
or
Juran Bolden to add depth at CB assuming Brown signs to had to the DE rotation

Bubba Franks is not a blocking TE, he is a redzone type guy that had as many TD's as Royal did last year. He would not be happy as a blocker.

Also, he is not a UFA, he got a transistion tag and Green Bay has the right to match any offer and they likely would do so.

I am happy with Royal but Gibbs has made it no secret he wants a big blocking TE with hands.

One TE that I really like is Freddie Jones but he is not as much a blocker but he can ball!

6'4", 265, 9 year vet...averages about 40-60 catches

Here are a few more "Blocking TE's":

Ken Dilger
Cam Cleeland
Marcellus Rivers
Joe Zelenka (also long snaps)
Ricky Dudley

Anyone up to bring back DE Carl Powell? He left with Marvin Lewis and is a UFA.

Corner Back Andre Dyson for depth...

Dyson - Harris then becomes a #3 corner and we can have him and Springs and Dyson man to man... blitz like crazy! Just like last yr. If Harris and Wilds are the 2 and 3 corner we need to give them help
Hartwell - Beastly LBs everywhere. If it turns out Barrow is healthy, put Hartwell at OLB and Arrington at DE
Joe Jurevicius - Large redzone target, yet another good but not great WR... think NE... also blocks well from the slot
Dilger - Same but at TE

I doubut the 1st 2 are fesible finacially, but the last 2 would fit in the cap I bet... anyway it sounds like this thread is for dreaming so sign them all

I'm not sure if I agree with you 100%. Bubba might not be a tremendous run blocker like Kyle Brady, but he's got to be up there...the man run blocks for A.Green just fine, I'd say better than fine pretty damn good. His run & pass blocking skills are far better than Royals. Also there's a good chance that GB might not sign Bubba as they are trying to land your Mr. Freddie Jones. Personally I think both are out of our price range as I stated before. I do however like the idea of Ken Dilger, he could come cheap but on the other hand I'd take Royal over him.

bubba does alot more catching than blocking, they usually bring in kevin barry (another OT) in run situations to block on the end

Hm... Sorry for reviving this post, but I think I might of been gone when it was posted.

Anyways, here is what Freddie Jones dealed with... In 2003, he dealed with jail break backfields and being on the same team as Anquan Boldin. Most of Boldin's passes not to him were to Bryant Johnson or maybe another one of their highly serviceable WRs.

Also, our offense could use any help we can get and he is a good safety valve if our O-Line continues to have big problems.

Plus, I started out my football life as a Cardinals fan...
