Deep wide receiver class!

Greetings, all!

This is the first time I've posted a new topic, so please bear with me. But, I just read on ESPN.com that this year's wide receiver class is VERY deep, meaning that you can get a quality wide receiver in the third round (where we have at least one pick!).

My point is this: let's use our #9 pick on whichever of those two highly touted corners are available -- Adam Jones or Antrell Rolle (my personal favorite) -- and we can pick up a good receiver in the third round. Now, I am anticipating that we'll get another third-rounder in the Gardner trade. We can use that on a defensive end or middle linebacker -- whomever is the best available at that time. Thoughts?

Welcome!

I tend to agree with that assessment. I think we can definitley fill another need at the #9 or even trade that pick and get a good WR down the line... although, I do like Mike Williams as well.

Thanks for posting stwasm. I moved your thread to the draft forum. It is about the Redskins and therefore could go either place, but it makes more sense with the other draft threads.

I agree that if there is a WR available, we could do better by waiting and drafting defensive talent in the first round, however I think the Skins will go offense.

Not to beat a dead horse, but a guy like VINCENT JACKSON could be availabe early in the third. To me, he is the best outside of Williams, Edwards, and Williamson.

Check him out: http://uncbears.collegesports.com/sport ... ent00.html

This class is very deep. Chris Henry, Vincent Jackson could be very big pickups later the first day.

Jackson would be a good pick up because hewould give us a big WR. Right now our starting WR's are about 5'10".

Yep Ramsey's Hog...he is a beast. Not many people seem to remember that Terell Owens went to Tennessee-Chatanooga...also a small school.

Hogster --

No way on Chris Henry...I see a lot of WV games and this guy is NOT a guy we'd want. It's all about him. I've seen him come off the field after a play where he's open (or thinks he is anyway) and the ball didn't come his way. He throws his helmet, he sulks...screw him...

If we're thinking of drafting a WV player -- it should be Pac Man Jones in the first round or Kay Jay Harris in the 3rd round. Run from Henry, and do it fast. He belongs on the Raiders. If we thought McCants didn't get much playing time, Henry wouldn't even see the locker room.

Unless Mike is there at number 9, I doubt we even draft a WR in this draft.... with Moss, Patten, Jacobs, Thrash, McCants, and with the possibility of keeping Gardner for another year we're pretty deep... Gibbs has said he's pretty happy with our reciever depth.

I'd say we're gonna take one of the two CB, or TE Miller... although I think that's too high to draft him... hopefully we throw in Gardner in a draft day trade... move back and pick up a 2nd rounder...

BTP -- remember, Gibbs is king of deception...Not that he's a liar by any means...

I like your idea of trading down...how about with Baltimore? They have the 22nd pick & the 53rd pick.

We give them Gardner and the #9 pick for their #22 and #53, plus Ray Lewis or Todd Heap...that's fair right???

Actually, if they threw in a 3rd rounder next year, I'd do it...without Lewis or Heap, of course.

We could get TE Miller at 22 and a CB with the 53rd pick.

I know what you mean... but picking up another reciever in a later round would seem to be a wasted pick to me... especially if we go in with all those guys, plus a rookie reciever... that would be 7 deep at reciever... doesn't make much since... if he lands a promising guy like Mike Williams... I could see it... but I don't think it's likely... just like I don't think it's likely that we draft a WR with Gardner still here...

This would mean there would have to be a guy there at #9 that the Ravens needed... which I don't think is likely... I'd say we have to trade with the Chiefs or our friends the Jets, who are both looking for help at the CB spot... My My 2 cents

BTP --

I'm wondering if the Ravens wouldn't want another QB...just in case Kyle ain't the guy...according to the Fox Mock Draft that BH posted -- Aaron Rodgers would still be there at #9...

You're probably right, Chiefs...maybe SD? Marty liked Gardner...

I don't think Billick & his ego is going to give up on Boller just yet... and them drafting a guy like Rodgers would just mess with Boller's head...

Should they get another QB... I'm with you 100%, Boller is the worst thing they've drafted in years... but I don't think Billick is gonna say, "I was wrong"... not yet anyways...

SD might be a slim possibility... you never know... I don't think they'd give alot up for him though... we'd probably only get there 28th pick overall and a 2nd for him & our #9... I don't think they'd deal us their #12 and a second for #9 and Gardner....

I think we should pick up Vincent jackson in the 3rd.Baby!
get a 3rd rounder for gardner or a player and we'll be set!
