I am so frustrated. Today was supposed to be payday. And I got a whopping ZERO DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS deposited into my bank account. No one in HR is available to tell me what the heck is going on. If I don't get answers soon I'm going to stop working. I am not working for free that's for sure!

Is it possible they "hold back" the first paycheck ?? Some places still do that. I hope you get an answer real soon !!! Good Luck.

Thanks Terri! The Cheif of the District I work in actually promised me a paycheck. She said it may not be an entire check but that I'd get paid something today. lol Maybe she is bringing me lunch and that's my pay.

They usually do a "dry run" for direct deposit to see if the transaction goes through.

They're just testing you to see how loyal you are!

Seriously, sounds like accounting issues, stay cool.

Ok the deposit was a mock deposit and I have a paper check sitting at the head office. Which does me about as much good as the deposit I got. Hopefully I'll be getting it in enough time to get to the bank.

Every job I've ever worked has had a problem with the first paycheck... it's just how things work when paying new people... bite your tongue... it will all be over soon... :)

I've had that problem before. One time it took two months. The other time just took a couple of days. Its just a matter of coordinating their bank with your bank. Once they get that done you'll get paid.

TCwest had it right - Direct Deposit always takes one check to post. At least that's been my experience. It takes one pay cycle for it to register, basically.

Other than that - how's the new job after a full pay period?

Thanks guys. I'm a little calmer now. I love the new job. It has it's moments like I contracted strep throat here but now I carry Lysol and hand sanitizer. I'm educated and prepared to spray down the next person that attempts to touch me! ;-) LOL Just kidding of course.

It's fun here. Nuts at times and nothing to do at others but I am handling it well I think.

You should see my office. It's like watching the wave go around for strep, flu, and any other disease floating around. You'd think I work in a nursery :-)

That's great it's going good so far!!

Glad to hear that the job is going well, Niki. Just spray Lysol into the eyes of anyone walking in to your work space and you should have a ton of friends real quick. . .
