... i think the best finishing move ever was the macho man elbow off the top rope. i have liked many finishing moves much, much more but I don't think i've ever seen anyone land a knock so brilliantly so many times.

Oh yeah... macho man Randy Savage.... yeeeeah.

Tombstone or any pile driver rocks... especially when delivered in the 'old days' by guys like Jerry Lawler.

Best ONE time finishing move... Jimmy Snuka off the cage on to Don Muraco with the splash ('83?). Muraco ACTUALLY broke a couple of ribs. many have tried to copy it since... but I don't know if anyone has actually JUMPED off the top of the cage like Snuka did.

Best submission... cross face chicken wing.

Best finishing move ? When Bastion Booger stepped between the ropes, I was finished.
Does that count ? :)

Rob Van Dam had a finishing move in ECW. I forget what it was called. He'd leave the guy in one corner of the ring, put a folding chair on the guy's face, climb to the nearest corner, dive and kick the guy in the face. Incredible move, especially after the grueling matches he had.

The van terminator... but i have to add that Shane McMahon doing the same move was just as impressive if not more.

I wouldn't watch Shane McMahon if you paid me. Kid never had an original thought in his life.

New Jeck jumping off a balcony and through a couple of tables was also a nice finishing move. ECW security actually had to drag them back to the ring so they could finish the match.

The Undertaker slamming Mankind through the top of the steel cage to the ring below was pretty good......

But I kind of liked the Razor's Edge

NJ was defeinitely one of the most hardcore freaks you'll ever see.

... I don't apprciate Shane for his originality, but I do appreciate what he did for the simple fact that his daddy's a billionaire and he doesn't HAVE to do squat. And it doesn't matter if you're copying someone when you jump off the TitanTron.

And I don't think mankind getting pounded through the cell should count as a finishing move when it wasn't supposed to happen. Throwing him off of the side of the cage maybe, but not when he went through. foley has said that he never would have done it willingly, but i have to wonder.

Mick Foley is TRULY one of a kind.

"I'll do a barbed wire match, but there's no way you're throwing me through a cage."

Somehow, I just don't see that.

He said it himself. He said that the knock was never intended and that he just wouldn't have agreed to it... just telling you what he said. I have one of his barb wire matches on tape (against Bruiser Brody?)... and I kind of tend to agree... if you'll do that... there's no limit.

But he did still say it.

Submission- The Sharpshooter, done by Bret "The Hitman" Hart.

Regular- I always kind of liked the Perfect Plex (fisherman's suplex) as a move, but it sure never got Mr. Perfect anywhere... Savage's elbow from the top rope was always fun to watch though, and he was able to make such a move his own, and so exciting to see.

His elbow from the top of the cage was pretty impressive, too.

When I was younger (maybe 10 or so), I went to MSG and the Main Event was Hulk Hogan vs. Jesse "The Body" Ventura, as they were wrestling Randy "Macho Man" Savage ran out, stole the Belt, went to the top rope & split Hogan's head open with it. He was like Superman. Those were the days!

I liked the Perfect-Plex, too, and to say it didn't get him anywhere... not so sure. He wasn't top supserstar material, but he was arguably one of the greatest 2nd tier badguys in wrestling.

Best move period? Mr. Perfect's football pass to himself :D

Best finishing move? The Screwdriver. You don't see it too often, especially not in watered-down U.S. wrestling. The guy picks his opponent up overhead like a suplex, but it turns into a pile-driver.

ROTFALMAO

Oh man, that whole series of 'perfect Sports' was one of the best bits they've ever done.

Actually I just thought of another one that's a bit of a strange answer... but the Widow's Peak that Victoria does is a cool finishing move.

... too bad they make us watch the rest of the match before we get to see it. Man women's wrestling is bad right now. I guess that's what happens when you want to use Divas instead of wrestlers. Moolah and Mae are STILL the only women wrestlers in the WWE.

Long live mae.... queen of the hardcore. When she got power bombed off of the stage last year at 80 years old, I think I actually wept.

Whatshername, the chick that used to be Miss Madness, she was actually pretty decent in WCW. I don't watch rasslin' anymore, but I imagine she doesn't get to do much in the WWE's T&A matches.

How about Hulk Hogan's leg drop  Almost as impressive as the "people's elbow"....NOT!!

Seriously, I think my favorite current finishing move is the headbutt of the top ropes by Chris Benoit. His head is so big (cough cough steroids cough cough) that you just know it freakin' hurts.

My favorite old school move was the spinning punch Kerry Von Erich used to do. It was cheesy I know, but back then I used to argue that wrestling was real (I was like 7).

Around the same age, I saw Empire State Wrestling or something like that, and I saw my first hardcore match. This guy put this other guy in a claw hold and it was the first time I saw real blood in a match.

I also liked when Ms. Elizabeth took off her skirt at Summer Slam in the early 90's during the Super Powers match and when Morton Downey, jr got his cigar put out by Rowdy Roddy Piper's fire extinguisher

I searched & searched... but I can't remember the guys name...

he was only a wrestler for a short time around the late 90's... he looked like a cross between Kane & X Pac.... anyways.... he had this finishing move, forget what it was called, where you pull the opponents left arm between his legs, then cross your left arm infront of his right arm, flipped him up over your shoulder like he's sitting on it backards, spin him head first around your neck to the other shoulder belly down, then slam him back first against the ground...

when doing it fast it was awesome looking... and my kids seem to enjoy it.. :)

anybody who figures out his name gets a coke..

pump handle slam?

Adam Bomb did that didn't he? Same guy who teamed up with mortis in the WCW as wrath... real name is Bryan Clark if i remember correctly.

is that the dude?

Others have done the pump handle slam since so maybe it was someone else. I just thought that Adam Bomb could definitely be described as a cross between kane and XPac.

his name was definitely Bryan Clarke, i looked it up. :-)Here's a pic to see if that's who it was:

Image

I remember he had contact lenses with yellow mushroom clouds on them and there wasn't really any such thing as 'novelty' contacts back then.

WRATH! Bryan Clark... your right... I kept looking under WWF... I get them confused... cokes in the mail :)

Does he still wrestle?

Edit: His finishing move was called "The Meltdown"....

Posted: Mon Mar 14, 2005 4:39 pm
by BossHog
... but he was Adam Bomb before he was wrath.... and that WAS in the WWE. I thought he used the pump handle slam (meltdown) there too, but I could be wrong.

... once he hooked up with Brian Adams to form Kronic, they've been pretty much joined at the hip since then. I remember the WWE canned them (well demoted them anyway) after a brutal PPV appearance )

I know he was wrstling in Japan as late as 2002 because he won a tag team belt, but I am not sure if he's still wrsetling. i'll have a looksee.
