Yes we lost a mlb and a corner, can our defense survive? I really believe GW is a huge part of it and is good at spotting talent. He will find a way. Offense, we got a great center, Ray Brown will push Dock hard or out of the position. We have two fast recievers Moss and Patton for the outside to stretch the field, and two big recievers D-Mac Taylor for crossing routes and Thrash the wiley vet.I think we need a corner more than a mlb and maybe a big fullback for that short yardage, also maybe a DE but if Daniels can stay healthy Hes a good fit.........ps I loved the post car insurance

cya guys

for the mlb problem we have lamar marshall and mike barrow, they can do well. For our corners Harris and Willds are good enough and if they need help we got taylor and bowen is coming back to help. we patched up our O-line i agree about the receivers. we dont need a corner. A big fullback can be cooley in certain plays. so for our pick in the draft it should be a DE. which is Erasmas James

OK I like that. And if we can get a good draft pick for Gardner a big fullback? I mean BIG cooley is good but someone like the Bus would be better, any players in 3rd round fit that description?

I actually think when you go through the Redskins roster player by player, we're in pretty decent shape already.
On offense, I think the main problem last season was the line. Getting Jansen back and adding Rabach will make a huge difference.
Defensively, we lost a linebacker but we're also essentially adding a linebacker in Lavar. My prference would be to draft a corner with our No. 1 -- either Rolle or PacMan would be fine with me -- since I think our starting corners are fine but we lack depth at the position.
I'd love to have the luxury of drafting a DE in the first round, but I don't think we do at this point. If they add another veteran corner after June 1, I might feel differently.

Every one has to play their first game...GW has been watching Wilds in practice for a full year..WE only saw one game, GW has seen him all year, he won't put any bumb out there....

WOW i didn't think that just because we lost two players people would be doubting our D. We well be fine, The skins would of overpaid for Pierce and Smoot. Two guys who i consider replacable unlike a great QB (brunell maybe LOL). I say don't worry. We still got Griffin, Lavar, Barrow, Washington, and most importantly Greg Williams.

As long as we find a replacement for Jimoh.

ight yall mark ma words right now...we will NOT draft a corner back. this is ma reasoning...Gregg Williams likes garnell, and if he needed a corner, he woulda told gibbs to really push to keep smoot, but we didnt really push for it. GW knows if Garnell can play

Nobody knows anything until things are proven on the field of play GAMETIME - some players practice well and suck on sundays.
Then there's some like TO who is not really into practicing, but lights it up when he hits the stage.

From a article in today's Post...
Gibbs, 64, signed a five-year contract last year at more than $5 million a season to be team president and coach. While his 6-10 team was a major disappointment to him and the fans, one can assume he has learned enough about his players, coaching staff, his boss, the salary cap and front-office personnel to be the right person running the operation.
At least I think he's the right guy, even though keeping Pierce and Smoot at their prices would have been my choice and following through on owner Dan Snyder's threat to deliver a flat-screen television set to an inactive Coles's house in Virginia on game days might have been fun.
But Gibbs watchers know how he operates: He didn't want to pay Smoot more than fellow corner Shawn Springs, even though Freddie wasn't seeking more than a million or two more than what the Redskins were offering and is better than the apparent replacement, Walt Harris, or possible draft pick Adam "PacMan" Jones of West Virginia. Nor did Gibbs want to pay Pierce more than Marcus Washington, whom the coaches believe is a better player. Nor did Gibbs want Coles pouting in a Redskins uniform.
Gibbs is very much about loyalty. Could the Redskins -- after taxes, 401(k)s, rollovers, tax deferrals, stretching out salary and bonus money -- have satisfied Smoot and Pierce? Sure. But Smoot and Pierce made it clear this was about money -- not even a lot in their world. And to me, that's the main reason both players are gone. Money over team.

There is also the possibility of Lott getting some time a corner which was his position in college.

No, we're not. Mostly, the whining coming from the brethren is the emotional fan speaking. The pragmatist in them will soon resurface.
Pay no mind.

We're in good shape.
We signed a strong center, and Jansen is ready to return. Raymer and Brown will be fine as reserves.
The OL is the engine that drives the team. Like NASCAR, you can change the tires, even change a driver, but if the engine weak, you lose.
Coles and Gardner leaving is a gain; getting Moss and anything for Gardner only makes it better. Patten is fast and a winner.
Smoot can be replaced, and, although it hurts to lose Pierce, management has finally begun to control that midnight urge to go out and sign people like Bruce Smith and Deon Sanders.
Brunell wants to contribute so he re-structured. Maybe he'll surprise us and be a good backup.
All to the good.

Yes we are screwed …..
We lost 3 starters and we should just mail in next season
I could point out my reasons for saying this but I don’t have any.
It’s free agency and we aren’t doing anything so I thought it was time to panic.
OK reality has set in, I’m find now
The Skins are find..... here are some reasons I say this
It’s the second week of free agency and we have acquired 3 starters, I know we lost 3, but 2 of the 3 were on defense where we could stand the hit, and the 3 additions were all on the offensive side of the ball(where we really need the help). Most people wanted to get a center in free agency…… it was the first thing that done
Joe Salave'a (DT), Ethan Albright (LS), Mike Sellers (FB), Rock Cartwright (FB), Demetric Evans(DE), Lemar Marshall (LB), Ron Warner(DE), Tim Hasselbeck (QB), John Simon (RB) and Andre Lott (S) were all resigned or tendered. So we are keeping our own players.
Coles is gone and 50/50 is on his way out, at the least the team speed increased with the addition of Patton and Moss.
We took a hit with the Coles mess but we got rid of some dead weight and got something out of it.
Brunell gave back a million , Gardner will free up $2M.
Not a bad start to free agency ……
Gibbs said there wouldn’t be a lot going on in free agency this year and I have no problem with that.
To be far to the front office we should wait until the offseason turns toward the draft before we start judging how the team is during. Then again maybe we should wait until after the draft.
Any holes that we have can still be filled in free agency or even the draft.
Since there is so much time between now and the time for upgrading the rosters ends (I think something happens June 1st that could be an impact)…… I just says Gibbs said he had a plan and he seems to be following it.

When you look at the talent we have on our roster, we are not bad off at all. We just tend to talk about needs rather than focusing on the positives.
We might had the best offensive line in football, and we might have the best runningback too. We have two pro-bowl caliber linebackers, two corners who have started and played well in the league, 3 good safeties (I though clark played really well last year) and the list continues.
We are not bad off at all.
