Fabian Washington has a good deal of experience, having been a starter at left cornerback for the Cornhuskers since freshman year in 2002. He has another year of eligibility left but decided to enter the draft after his junior season so he can support his mother and his brother financially. He finished his three-year career with with 145 tackles, 38 passes broken up and 11 interceptions. He has proven to be a very durable player during his time at Nebraska playing in 37 games with no major injuries. Washington has the speed to run with just about any receiver that lines up across from him but he lacks the size to cover some of the bigger receivers in the NFL. He changes direction well and has great recovery speed. He has soft hands and good ball skills. He also has the ability to run well after he makes an interception. He may need to bulk up some and improve his tackling technique to be more of a factor in run support. Fabian probably would've benefited from staying in college for his senior season. He is still developing as a cornerback but he has all the tools you look for in a cover corner and he has a chance to become a very good starter in the NFL. He is a solid first day pick at this point.

This guy sounds amazing...4.25 speed and projected to go late in the first round, if we trade down this guy could be a great pick up

Agreed. Although he didn't have Washington's speed, wasn't Pat Fischer our last great Cornhusker?

Look at us we need to get Vinny's cell phone number b/c I saw the same thing he ran a 4.29 and a 4.31 was projected to go late 2nd or third round we need to get him. I dont even know if the skins were at his workout. I know the cowgirls were. I'm sure with his speed he has placed himself amoung the top 3 coners if not the 1st depending on what Pac Man jones ran today.. But this guy would make a great addition. So Call Vinny, Danny, or JG we need to get Washington in Washington.

The Cowboys were at the Cornhusker workout to look at FS Josh Bullocks. DB coach Todd Bowles is on record as saying he would immediately improve the defense.

Washington's speed makes him a prospect, but with so many corners who've also shown playmaking ability running well this year, I wouldn't be suprised to see him around in the late second early third.

Playing in the Big 12 will ultimately hurt his stock. The only NFL prospect QB in the whole conference is Vince Young, and he's not looked at for his passing skills.
