SirSmizzy, how can you call Snyder clueless? He is doing everything he can as a businessman to get this team winning players, and you think he's the one that's pulling the trigger now anyways?? Heck no......and I'd LOVE to hear you call Joe Gibbs clueless.

The reason they are saying is wasn't a smart move was because of the salary cap hit we took because of this trade.
If we had kept him for the season then let him go we wouldn't have taken the cap penalty. There were just better ways of letting him go besides for this trade.

I think it's more than fine to criticize Snyder. He has immersed himself into the football business. He owns the team, so it's his right. However, he's proven himeself a failure in this endeavor. I love the Skins, and I wish it wasn't so, but the truth is the truth.
Bringing Gibbs back is great, but what Redskins fan (were they the owner) wouldn't have been calling him every day? That doesn't mean he doesn't want the team to win, but his actions smack of the actions of a degenerate gambler. They want to win, too...but they won't. Add to this that he nickel and dimes the fans to death, and I think he TOTALLY invites critisizm.

I'm actually growing tired of hearing people slam Snyder. I would much rather have an owner that is willing to spend cash to get the best players available than a cheap owner that fields a bunch of scrubs. The only negative thing Snyder has done that hurt the team in the past was not having stable coaching implemented. Now with Gibbs back, I think we will finally have a stable coaching staff.
Of course there was a bad signing here and there, but every team has had their share of those. When I hear other teams whine about us spending a lot of cash, my first reaction is "why do you care?" Seriously, why do they? I guess I can understand Sir Smizzy's reasons. If another team raided us and took all of our players, I would have a distaste for them.

I agree.. Snyder is fair game... the degenerate gambler is a great analogy...
Firing Schottenhiemer was stupid... that just shows where his head is... he fired a coach that ended the season 6-2... for Spurrier... that is like cheating on your wife for a young thing... the grass isn't always greener... he is showing that he has the gambler's mentality or junkies mentality... just one more hit... or this one might fix everything...

I respect your reasoning. I'll also admit that I'd be right back on the bandwagon if a Snyder run team won it all. But I don't think that he's a laughing stock for no reason. His rash decisions have been so numerous, and usually foolish, that it's gone beyond walking and talking like a duck.

No, he didn't screw us. As usual we screwed ourselves. We were not forced to trade him, we choose to.

Yeah Snyder dropped all of those wide open passes last year...oh yeah remember when Snyder didn't pass for over 100 yds for like a month...u guys are right Dan Snyder can't play a lick of football.
Snyder was a little Green on football, but he is the best business man in the league. Just check the fgures. Forbes named the Redskins the #1 Franchise in All of Sports last year. We gross more than any other team, and all while not making the playoffs for nearly a decade...sounds like good business to me

Why are you so proud that we gross so much money but can't win half our games?
I don't know about you but when my friends and I talk trash during the seaon, we don't usually argue who much popcorn money our team made.

That's why it's so frustrating. Snyder seems to be able to do everthing except the ONLY thing the fans care about. Field a winner.

Hopefully, there's a little more to talk about than "popcorn revenues", but hey...it's nice to have something to fall back on, no ?
