Allright guys. I've come up with another master plan. Tell me what you think.

Since we now have SMoss and DPatten, I don't think the Redskins are in dire need of MWilliams. He would definitely help our team, but we can do fine without him. Think about it, JGibbs does not want to heave the ball up like the Eagles do anyway. Moss and Patten should be able to stretch the field for our boy Clinton to do his stuff.

So, here's what I think. I believe the position we go after in the draft all depends on what happens with FSmoot. If Smoot does end up leaving the B&G, we should definitely trade down, pick up MClayton and a high 2nd Round CB. If we end up keeping him, we should get whoever is available. If Williams is there, then.....I guess....why not?

I just don't think we should devote our pick on Williams, not that we have already. Seems like we have an abundant number of WRs who seem to be okay. They are not huge playmakers, but for our offensive scheme...I think they'll be fine. (Moss, Patten, Thrash, Jacobs, D-MAC)

Or you can forget all this and get ARolle from the draft? I'm kind of confused. What do you guys think we should do? What should we do if Smoot stays/leaves? Or does that not matter at all?

Hey Boss, I was confused on which forum to put this under. I think I have chosen the correct one. Please don't infer that I didn't care about this site's rules.

Who said anything about Clayton? I hope we dont end up with him. WRs like him are a dime a dozen.

If Smoot goes we should take Antrell Rolle with the #9 pick. He's much bigger and more physical and could be another leader for our defense.

we definetly dont need clayton...he kinda reminds me of santna moss when he came out, small and fast, if we choose to go with th wr position it will be a big reciever

Beause he's kind of small? I thought JGibbs doesn't care about the size of WRS? Plus...we have Thrash, Jacobs, and D-Mac who are relatively big.

Even if Smoot doesn't sign with us, I wouldn't draft a corner in the first round. I think DL is more of a need position on defense than CB - a guy who can put pressure on the QB. That will make our CBs look all-pro. I might take a CB later in the draft or better yet, find another "Walt Harris" in FA...maybe a Chad Scott. He's a big CB who might be willing to take less money. I know he isn't Smoot or Springs but he'd be fine to hold us off for one year...

I don't think size matters to Gibbs either... if we happened to go after WR in the draft.... we had The Smurfs in the early 80's and they did fine... the Pats were all small... size really won't play a huge factor if Gibbs goes after WR... I think he'll look more at the WR ability.. ...

Joe Gibbs might claim he doesnt care about recievers but if you've heard of a guy named Art Monk you will understand that this offense will not run well without a big possession receiver. Thrash, Jacobs, Patten, Moss are all speed wideouts. D-Mac isnt a good practice player and will never get significant P/T with Joe so drafting a player like Mike Williams or even Braylon Edwards would be ideal. Clayton is just out of the question

Can't agree with you. How come the Patriots are successful? How come the Colts are successful?
It's not ONLY the Quarterback. It's also the wide recievers...the size doesn't matter to me...its only the legs, hands, and heart that truly matters.

Size is not just height but muscle mass as well. Do you think Jacobs and Thrash can be possession receivers? No way, theyre both 6 feet, 190 pound recievers

What about D-Mac? You seemed to forget him. He's a possession reciever IF he is ON the field.

I'm talking about the big play-making recievers: TO, Randy Moss, Roy william. You gotta be tall & agile, taller than the cornerbacks so if theres a jump ball the reciever will get it. Tall. Someone who can catch throws over there head, like Randy and Roy Williams of the Lions. We need someone like that. A BIG playmaker, not just a good reciever like the ones u mentioned.

SkinsLaVar, I think it will be very difficult to get this type of player on the redskins. Remember JGibbs wants a quality player. A "Core" skin. When you have such a player...they usually start doing crazy things and start having off-the-field problems. I'm guessing that T.O. is another example of a playmaker. Do you really think JGibbs can live with someone like this on his team? ALMOST all of these great WR playmakers are people like Moss and T.O. I mean....who wouldn't be? If they can "walk the walk" they'll certainly "talk the talk."
So, I don't know if this type of player will become a Redskin under JGibbs. (At least for several seasons)

Yeh I see ur point, but how about WR Roy Williams? He seems like a classy guy. I haven't heard any talk out of him...

Well he was a rookie. How can a rookie talk smack when he just enters the NFL? He can't. Watch...if he has two or three more good seasons we'll have another T.O. or RMoss on our hands.

Keep in mind, just because you draft a guy high, doesn'mean that he will be that star to fill a need. I hope we can get a 2nd or 3rd Round pick for Gardner. It is quite possible that Mike Williams or Edwards will not be available. With Norm Chow, (Williams old O-Coordinator) at Tennessee, and The Vikings minus Randy picking ahead of us, we may need to look at other receivers. I like Troy Williamson better than Clayton. He is 6-2 200 and runs in the low 4.4 range. If Smoot is lost, Antrelle Rolle would be a great pickup at 9. Either way, we have picks in the other rounds that can be just as valuable, i.e. Chris ey. Heck T.O. was a later round pick. GO SKINS....at least we know our management knows what they are looking for.(
