Troy definitely made sacrifices for the good of the team but do you know the details of his release? He was due a roster bonus of $2.5M to go along with a salary of the same and $5M is a lot for the patiots to pay anyone let alone a 12-year veteran who plays ostensibly nickelback, punt returner and seldom used receiver.

He definitely sucked it up for the team and probably feels slapped in the face himself, but any player who puts a big roster bonus ANYWHERE in their contract knows that there is a HUGE possibility that they will never see it....

At least he got a coupla rings on his fingers for his troubles.

Those definitely help. I guess now he can go and earn some retirement pension.
