This whole thing "ravens good next year" is a contradiction. The Ravens are out in a creek without a paddle and somehow they've managed to make some actual progress out of it.

NO the Ravens arent good. They don't have a WR, heck, 2 WR's. They don't have a QB, I wouldnt call Kyle Boller a QB, a kid whos had a league low 70.8 passer rating and totaled almost as many touchdowns as INTS.

I compliment the defense because thats what got them to where they are. But the Ravens are what we DONT want to be...we want a good offense AND a good defense.

The Ravens defense will be good next year, obviously. Besides Jamal, Ogden, Heap and several o-lineman, their offense is horrible. It has been their downfall for years and I think it will continue in 2005 unless they make some drastic and much-needed moves.

Exactly, if they Ravens could get an offense they'd easily be in the top tier of teams.

They get much respect from me because their organization seems to be in contention every year to make the playoffs, they have a great front office which I'm envious of.

All they need is a QB, two or three WRs, a nickelback, an offensive coordinator and they're all set.

I"m sorry, but when referring to Baltimore's current QB, please use his correct name -- Akili Boller-Leaf.

Thanks.

Deion is their nickel...i think he is staying...he did just fine last year..had a few picks.

Jim Fassel was promoted to O-Coordinator and he is one of the best in the business...he just needs WR's (Coles cough, cough)

Boller is their QB and he made strides last season w/out a top WR. (coles, cough cough)

Don't forget a backup RB to play when Jamal is out doing. . .uhh. . ."community service" time. . .

Just exchange the word "Ravens" in that sentence with another "R" team, and what do you know--the message still applies. . . :)

Exactly, they're almost at where the Pats are at when it comes to keeping a team around. But they seem to neglect their offense every offseason. I almost feel bad for their defense because they work so hard every year and nothing comes out of it but then I remind myself: "I hate the Ravens."

. . . . .good, now repeat 50 times. . . . :)

No, I do sometimes almost feel bad for the players on the defense who do work hard and play well without results every year. But, every year I also get to bask in the irony that Billick, who was supposed to be some kind of offensive genius coming into the organization, simply can't get a decent offense off the ground in Baltimore.

Interesting article on the Raven's and their hopes and dreams. . .

Ravens miss out on Muhammad
By Aaron Wilson
Date: Feb 27, 2005

OWINGS MILLS -- Cross another wide receiver off the Baltimore Ravens' list.

Former Carolina Panthers standout Muhsin Muhammad agreed early Saturday morning to a six-year, $30 million contract with the Chicago Bears that reportedly includes $12 million in guaranteed money.

Underline available wideouts such as Derrick Mason, Plaxico Burress, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and, possibly, Laveranues Coles, as receivers Baltimore will consider obtaining.

For the Ravens, it has been an unproductive period thus far after bowing out of Randy Moss trade discussions earlier this week and seeing Muhammad sign with Chicago days into the annual scouting combine in Indianapolis.
