Load up on Defense?

Maybe the Redskins should load up on defense. With a few more key players we could build a dominant defense similar to the 1985 Bears or 2000 Ravens. If we had a defense that was great and only gave up 10 points a game and could score on occasion we may be better off. Like almost everyone else I love to see an offense that scores a lot of points, but defense wins championships. What do you think?

We have a good defense, don't forget that LaVar, Daniels, Bowen etc will be back...

I guess we need to settle the MLB and CB positions and that shouldn't take too much doing IMO. Can you believe adding Arrington to the 3rd ranked defense though? Oh man!

As I have stated...Derrick Johnson would be tempting if Pierce leaves and the top WR's on gone (I have heard that Mike Williams could/should fall to #12 - #18 and some are considerring him as a hybrid TE).

I think the Skins should pick up another D Tackle and an End (maybe James or Spears if he falls in the draft or the Skins acquire and extra pick).

BUST Gerrard Warren is on the trading block....give up a 4th rounder?

We had a ting defense and finished 6-10.

Yeah what a great and wasted effort the defense put in last season. I agree with your sentiment, but we at least need to build some semblance of a competent offense.

LA is a better LB than LM. Would you agree with that? Excitement about his return to this squad next year is justified.

Fair weather fans say that LA isn't good. Fair weather fans look at his absence from the #3 D this past year and want to
brush him under the rug.

Fans, peers and coaches around the league have seen him visit the ProBowl 3 times. Coaches, fans and whoever else that has a say in ProBowl voting saw his performances standout on teams that weren't very good. If he was healthy he would've gone again this year.

The above statement ties into your comment about the playoffs. The TEAMS weren't very good. You can mix and match a lot with the talent that's in the league right now. Most teams can match up pretty well with other teams. Would you agree with that?

If you can agree with that you would also agree that the NFL is a coaches league and that college is a players league. The Redskins have had way too much turnover with coaches and everything else for a long time.

Blaming our lack of playoff births on LaVar since he was drafted isn't right. One man cannot be responsible for his TEAM making the playoffs. The coach or in this case coaches should be held responsible.

I hear a lot of people say that LaVar has a big mouth. Do I just not see or read about these interviews? I don't know him personally but he seems like a pretty down to earth guy. I also hear a lot of people say that he's stupid. I can't remember what his major was at Penn. State but it wasn't your typical General Studies major which usually gets the official "you're all athlete and no brains" stamp.

I know you're an LA fan and all but why aren't you excited about his return?

do we have a 4th round pick? or is it the 5th round that we don't have?
